I don't have the tank yet, but from what I've seen on youtube vids there is now an indicator at the top of the tank that says when they're hungry. I hope that helps!

Ho? didnt noticed the indicator, gonna look better , tks :)

No problem :) if you have the large fish tank it's up near the top, so its way above your normal eyeline, which is probably why you missed it

Ok i finaly saw the indicator, never noticed it because my fish was always enough feeded, in this case there no icon :)

The only thing missing on the tank is possibility to grab the fish we want, for time its random ( or i missed something else ) :)

Glad you found it :)

I'm not sure about your second point, but I agree such a feature should be there.

Not to mention clearer glass for the tanks so we can actually see the fish swimming inside.

It changes with the breed of the fish and may also change with the rank of fish too. A normal catfish takes around 2-3 days to spawn a new fish. I have another tank with king goliaths in it and they take around 7-8 days to spawn. The fish tank caps at 5 fish and is unfortunately fairly inefficient because of it. The large fish tank goes to 6+ fish and works better for making more fish. The tanks spawn 1 fish for every 2 already in it. So you can never spawn more than one fish at a time from the little tank while the spawn rate is higher in a large tank. Still haven't found the fish number cap in the large tank though cause those goliaths spawn so slow lol.

The other thing is that those damn dough balls don't seem to have the same 'weight' that the bug eggs do. I have to use 2-3 dough balls per goliath per day. The bug eggs are never more than 1 per day per fish. It's just a pain to have to go farm them. Wish they were on the civil corps hunt list.

You can't choose, but it is not random. You grab the fish first, that was placed last or breeded last.

But you are totaly right, it would be brilliant, if we could choose, wich fish we want to grab!
There definitely should just be an interface that opens up. As it stands you can just chuck 500 dough in there and forget about it for like a month, but that just kind of sucks.

And as far as I know, the newest fish is the one you grab.

I've tried chucking hundreds of dough into the tank but the 6-8 King fish must be really hungry. The icon appeared again a few days later. An interface would be really useful.

The dough is a 'weaker' food for sure. Each king fish will consume around 3-4 every day. The bug eggs work better. I fed 1 bug egg per goliath king fish in a tank at 9 fish right after waking up around 7:30 am. I didn't feed them again until the next day when the icon showed up around 1600-1700. Them damn bug eggs lasted over 24 hours. I just hate that it is a pain to accumulate them in any large numbers. It wastes so much time but, dough is even more useless in my eyes because of all the time to make it(or cost if you buy flour and mucus).

To make sure I get the fish I want, just make a tank per fish type and only keep that fish in the tank. Then you always pull out what you want lol. The king fish are worth doing this in the large tanks. The tank max is 12 fish so build the tank up to 8 fish and the next time they spawn new fish it will be full. Pull out and sell 4 of them for 20000 gols give or take the market influence. Then repeat endlessly for each tank you have.

Very good advise here. Though, you can have even more fish in the Crystal Fish Tank unlocked in the late game (up to 20 in total). 15 for the "normal" Large Fish Tank.

On the flip side, these tanks have a massive 6x6 footprint.

yeah just found out today my tank had staggered spawns in it and I thought 12 was the max when I was expecting it to go higher and didn't. Then a couple of days later the 1 more fish I thought was lost because I hit the tank cap showed up lol. For the large tank, that means 10 is the optimum fish count to get the most out of it at 25000 gols then. EDIT: well if the wiki isn't right anyways. It says the fish will breed up to 20 in the large tank though player can only place up to 15 themselves. That means the nearest optimum is 12-13 fish selling 6 each time they spawn. Damn wiki...I'll just go back to figuring it out myself

I keep forgetting if I want to know stuff to look for wikis. I just keep doing it the hard way lol. I'm still in my first play through just chugging along as I please lol. That crystal tank doesn't fit a nice ratio like the large tank though. They should have made it 21(14+7) or 24(16+8) fish. Though that's just my nitpicking I suppose.

Edit2: Half wondering if that wiki is right...there are two emperor ranked fish that require more food than their king rank versions...wth. You eat more but sell for less than 1/7th the value of the king fish.
