The only thing missing on the tank is possibility to grab the fish we want, for time its random ( or i missed something else ) :)
I'm not sure about your second point, but I agree such a feature should be there.
It changes with the breed of the fish and may also change with the rank of fish too. A normal catfish takes around 2-3 days to spawn a new fish. I have another tank with king goliaths in it and they take around 7-8 days to spawn. The fish tank caps at 5 fish and is unfortunately fairly inefficient because of it. The large fish tank goes to 6+ fish and works better for making more fish. The tanks spawn 1 fish for every 2 already in it. So you can never spawn more than one fish at a time from the little tank while the spawn rate is higher in a large tank. Still haven't found the fish number cap in the large tank though cause those goliaths spawn so slow lol.
The other thing is that those damn dough balls don't seem to have the same 'weight' that the bug eggs do. I have to use 2-3 dough balls per goliath per day. The bug eggs are never more than 1 per day per fish. It's just a pain to have to go farm them. Wish they were on the civil corps hunt list.
You can't choose, but it is not random. You grab the fish first, that was placed last or breeded last.
But you are totaly right, it would be brilliant, if we could choose, wich fish we want to grab!
And as far as I know, the newest fish is the one you grab.
To make sure I get the fish I want, just make a tank per fish type and only keep that fish in the tank. Then you always pull out what you want lol. The king fish are worth doing this in the large tanks. The tank max is 12 fish so build the tank up to 8 fish and the next time they spawn new fish it will be full. Pull out and sell 4 of them for 20000 gols give or take the market influence. Then repeat endlessly for each tank you have.

On the flip side, these tanks have a massive 6x6 footprint.
I keep forgetting if I want to know stuff to look for wikis. I just keep doing it the hard way lol. I'm still in my first play through just chugging along as I please lol. That crystal tank doesn't fit a nice ratio like the large tank though. They should have made it 21(14+7) or 24(16+8) fish. Though that's just my nitpicking I suppose.
Edit2: Half wondering if that wiki is right...there are two emperor ranked fish that require more food than their king rank versions...wth. You eat more but sell for less than 1/7th the value of the king fish.
