They're for when you get Ack unlocked, and get him to Buddy status or higher. Keep them until then, it's easier than going hunting for them all over again. You can just store them in a storage box.

You can only install one of each type of chip in Ack, so you can sell the extras.

Thank you!!! How do you unlock Ack? I am lv 60 it seems he should be unlocked by now.

You have to improve your relationship with him.

Ack isn’t really worth the money you have to invest in him if you already have a factory. He’s meant to be a helper around the workshop, but once the factory is set up, he’s basically useless.

You’d be paying him over 1k a month just to occasionally plant/harvest crops, look after livestock, and maybe cook for you. Not worth it, man.

Speaking for myself I would pay him 20k or more to not have to bother with all that busy work everday.

I have some large farming areas of around 60 small fields and 30 trees and thinking about expanding. Harvesting, replanting, fertilizing and removing all that animal poop is worth that much. That permanent stat boosts are also valuable but I don't think you need to hire him for the cooking.

I have a field of 100+ small planters and 12 large planter boxes. These take up less than 10% of my fully-upgraded lot, and I could have plenty more if I wanted to. The only reason ive stopped there is because a single harvest leaves me with over 3k units of whatever I planted, far more than enough to exhaust the funds of all Portia’s shops.

With that said, this would be a HUGE pain in the ass to plant/harvest without a mod that disables animations. The vanilla game will literally force you to spend 5 minutes or more going through the tedious task of planting/harvesting while the mod lets you get it over with far, far quicker.

In other words, don’t get Ack, get mods.

Ok, but why even bother with the clicking? By the time you're able to hire Ack can you make enough money each day to hire Ack for the next 10 years.

Less overhead costs are always a good thing.

Also, he’s a robot. He should be paying ME for the privilege of allowing him to live in Portia. As the memers like to say: “4chan you, pay me $1,000.” #YangGang2020

Most can be found on the Nexus mods site: https://www.nexusmods.com/mytimeatportia/
You'll need to make an account to download stuff. Nexusmods is a bit shady, though, they make you think creating an account costs you, but it doesn't, just go straight down to create an account.
As far as I've seen modding Unity games is pretty limited and not easy to do (When the whole clicking sound for ui messages happened I really tried to get rid of it myself) so you won't see any amazing mods like you'd see for other games like Stardew Valley or Skyrim.

Some people here and there have their mods on github, but they're cheat mods most of the time.
