Where do I store items at Workshop?

Start creating wooden storage crates. Cheap to make and hold 20 items. No limit to how many that you can have that I know of.

Yup make wooden storgaes to start, holds 20. Later you can make metal storages that holds 30. Later on after that you can get Saftey Boxes that will hold 60.

Never bothered to upgrade them. Just added a few helper boxes to supply Ack with the stuff he needed

And then much later you can just dump everything into your factory and wash your hands of the whole idea of self-organization.

Just one other addition, you can expand your personal inventory from the inventory screen - just click on the locked slots. Each row costs more gol to unlock. It took me a long time to discover that one...

Also you can hold down RS (I think) when in a chest to sort all available items into a chest. This loads every item into an existing stack in its existing chest.

You can switch between chests with the RT and LT buttons (or click on the chest name with your mouse, top middle) and switch between ALL chests without needing to walk. This will save you lots of time and the game stays paused, as opposed to walking to chests.

You can also build at a work bench and machines (like furnaces) directly from your chest storage. You only need to carry items that are being installed into a blueprint.

It's also worth the money to unlock you first screen of inventory early. Saves having to ditch stuff in ruins and mines.

Until you get the level 3 Assembly pad, the automated pad will auto pull parts from your chests and can mass produce items to sell.
