Any logic to calendar??
OK so this is the 2nd time I've played a game where the calendar only goes up to 28. Why T_T? My birthday is December 30th and there's no 30. I've played harvest moon for years and never had such an issue. I mean it doesn't bother me too much but just kinda annoying.

Also this game seems to be picking up in popularity, I bought this game about 6 months ago but didn't really check it out until now.

7x4 is 28 .... it's a simple design. You may want to consider your birthday to be in this game like the 27th or 28th of Winter, as there is no December.

From a design perspective, it's considerably easier to have the months the same length. 28 is chosen because it's exactly four weeks. Otherwise your "holidays" start moving around, the way they do in real life, and could overlap with weekend events and such you didn't plan for. Which introduces bugs.

It's entirely doable to have a more realistic day/month system, but making sure it's the same each time is a lot quicker and easier.

Yea I understand haha, just kinda sucks. and yea I did set it for 28

I did the same. My b'day is New Year's Eve, so the closest equivalent is Winter 28th. Maybe after the apocalypse they went back to a pre-Gregorian calendar that follows a lunar cycle (a little over 29 days) and a four month year.
To actually have a four month year would mean an orbit about a third bigger than Mercury (around 40 million miles) and things would be a bit warm at that point! :lunar2019madpig:

It would be nice for them to go back to a 12 month calendar, even if it was 28 days each ..... just my opinion. How hard would that be?

That might stretch things out too much. Under that system, I would be at Sept. 1st of my first year in my game. The last month of summer. Considering how far I've gone into the game - I just recovered the first key - you could finish the game before you put a single year in. And now that I think about it, I'd have to wait a long-o time to plant cotton again! :steamhappy:

Harvest moon has 4 seasons and each season has 30 or 31 days depending on the game. 12 month not really nessisary but meh

They had a 12 month game structure previously?
Not sure if I like that. I kind of like the season based stardew model.
I suppose if they had it, it could maybe be an option for people who want to select it when creating a new game, though since there's no limit (like stardew) a 12 month thing would only extend things.
I get the 28 day thing as I'm done with my data disk submissions on 28/3/00, it might be boring for more casual players to have unlocked everything in spring/summer
