Ack not harvesting or planting

How do you get Ack to harvest and replant for you? I have the chips installed and activated. I gave him wheat seeds but he will not harvest anything or plant anything.

What is the trick to get him to do the gardening?

I haven't seen him plant anything but he harvests and does fertilizer just fine and cleans up after my animals. I plant and feed animals myself as it doesn't need done that often and haven't figured out how to get Ack to plant stuff.

But, to your question. Make a helper box and put the stuff into that Ack needs, fertilizer etc. Use the home panel in your house to check mark things you don't want him to do. And lastly. Pay him. You have to pay Ack monthly in order for him to do these things. There should be an option when interacting with him after you've unlocked that by gaining enough rep.

Are you sure you hired him? Remember you have to do it after each month.

It's happening to me also, after he told me he had a dream about Lara, it started where he would stand in my crops for hours, and on the 16hr, he would do some, some need to be plucked, and I would have to do it. And I pay him every month,


we shouldn't have to pay him because he wanted to do it, and not only that he said he wouldn't let me down.

Mine harvests, but I've never tried to have him plant things for me. I like to keep a variety of plants growing at once, and since I don't know of any way to make him only plant a dozen of one seed, six of another and six of another, I just do that part myself.

I have noticed him sometimes just... spacing out at the planter boxes like he was wanting to harvest, but his brain died off. It usually corrects itself after a while, so I just ignore him.

As for "shouldn't have to pay him", shame on you! Milk aint free, AI's need money too! Actin' like some kinda oldworlder treatin AI's like slave labor. You want slave labor in portia you marry someone for it!

He has seeds on him as well.

He will fertilize just fine, have him doing that but he will not harvest or plant anything.

From my experience, Ack would not plant while you are present at the farm. He harvests and delivers products to the box but I never saw him going to the empty planters and planting anything. But when I occasionally come home from long mining trip or exit house first in morning, seeds are planted and sometimes have grown to young plants.

About sowing - I actually find very useful the 'plant in order' option instead or 'replant'. I select this option, split seed stacks in his inventory and arrange them in desired order. Like, first slot - 20 Rainbow seeds, 2nd - 20 Lettuce, etc. I give him current season seeds and he uses them in the order they are in his inventory. With this I can manage number of plants per season - I kind of order how many I need in this season and then just forget about it.

Also, if that helps anyone - he correctly adds fertilizer to irrigation tower instead of each planter, I saw that in helper log.

It doe not help me to put seeds in his storage box, he will not do. But he will if placed in his inventory on him, he will fertilizer - and he standing in my crops for few hrs, hard to find him, he blends in with the wheat, then he comes to me saying come and look of all the work I've done, when the day before, he had plenty of seed to plant and skip here and there, I had to fill in those spots. And the panel, I just click off and on, to get him started for that day.
