Ack; the extremely annoying ''helper''
Am I the only one completely frustrated now Ack ''helps'' around the workshop?
It's a nice idea, and a good try.. but he's become so irritating I wish I could tell him to stop!
Every morning it's a race to get to my completed items before he can pick them up, because if he gets to them first he RUNS AWAY with them only to return to the workshop somewhere around 22:00

If I set up anything to be crafted/smelted/grinded etc. I want it to be where it belongs when I come out of the house in the morning, it's especially annoying when it's something I need to complete a commission and he gets to it first, he then runs off with all the items I need and I have to chase after him.

So PLEASE Dev's make it so you can either tell him what he's allowed to touch, or that I can tell him to just stop helping all together, I'm perfectly capable of picking up my own items he's just being a little thief and should stick to cooking. I'm the only builder my workshop needs, maybe he could cook me some dinner instead of running off with my items!

Does he do this automatically after you reach a certain relationship level with him? If so I'll have to stop talking to him for now until they fix this lol

I saw a video where Emily, as your wife, also absconds with your stuff. You have to check each time with her before you go searching. Sounds a bit like married life if you have two cooks in the kitchen LOL (honey, where is the...?)

Or add an icon that shows where he's at on the map at any given time. I also hate when he grabs my stuff off the machines.

lol this is funny ^^
but you are right.. I placed some large relict items, so it is hard for him to reach the machines, also I have a little labyrinth around his girlfriend Lara, so he is busy with that ^^ in the rest of the time he is mostly somewhere around the house, check out his daily life and he is not that hard to find..

yep emily as wife the same.. was the reason for me to start a new save with last update.... the waiting for a "turn it off"-button in the talk menu is/was too long (and im sceptical if this will happen in future)

I'm not sure on what relationship level I was with him, but after making Lara he kept coming to my yard and one day asked me if he could help around the workshop since he's there all the time.. I did get the option to tell him yes or no, I told him yes, and before the update he just picked up rocks, stones etc. from the ground, but now he picks up everything and runs

I have followed him around, but first thing in the morning he grabs all my things before I'm even awake XD Then he runs off towards the tree farm to go pick up rocks there, I know where he is, I just do not like having to run around chasing him spending an hour of my time just to get my 2 bearings I need lol

I'm so glad I read this topic. I'm going to stop gifting iron pans to Ack now. Would much rather keep control of when I harvest / refuel. Will also steer clear of Emily for that reason.

All I do is talk to Ack, but I'll stop for now. I don't want my stuff stolen xD Same with Emily, well, I'll still talk to her and stuff, but I'm playing for Arlo <3 x3

I'm glad this post saved you from the thieving hands of Emily and Ack! Lol

I married Arlo too! :D
Arlo is cool, he minds his own business and doesn't bug me with gifts either lol

Maybe they should change it so that they give you the stuff before they run off. Like how your spouse will chat with you after you exit the house if they did anything.

Ack just came up to me ingame, at my workshop, and asked if I wanted him to be my helper, since he stuck around my workshop so much anyway. I imagine it was triggered by the Lara model staying up for a certain amount of days. I said no thanks. So I'm safe to increase my relationship with him? He won't start 'helping' once I reach a certain level in the relationship?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Why not just add a storage dedicated for Ack/Emily, if this help feature is useless then what's the point ? better fix it to make this idea working for them as real helpers
