Just started and confused as to add fuel to furnace

Am I going crazy. Basic furnace that I created during tutorial now is out of fuel but how do I add more. I assume its just wood but no clue how to add it.

Click on the furnace (go into its menu) all the way on the lower right should be a big green button saying Refuel. If you have wood in your inventory (it takes up to 20 but you don't need 20 it will take what you have) that should be it.

Edit Add: Of course if you don't see that big green button saying Refuel, you have other problems. Maybee screen resolution? Maybee a genuine bug. If its a genuine bug I suggest reporting it (hopefully with a savegame). Maybee waiting out the day and exiting after save and reloading the game would fix it.

My furnace button to add fuel is gray, when I go to craft something it says I need fuel, but I cannot add it, even if I have wood on me (over 50). What do I do?

Do you have 'wood' or 'hardwood'? if it is the latter you need to split it into normal wood at the workbench first.

Furnaces only use ordinary wood. The slightly better Hard Wood must be first crafted into plain wood at the workbench.
