I hope they get better writers for the next game.
Yah, I just don't see a comment like his being taken well in real life. "Hey, you're great. But when you first came around here I thought you were a total wimp." That's just mean. Granted he does spar and start off the game at level 5, but by the time he gives us this little "insight" our character has been through hell-and-back.
The ones I picked stood out for how rude they were. Another one I found off-putting was Emily's because she congratulated our character and Higgins on being able to put aside our rivalry to get stuff done. I just want to say that the whole "rivalry" nonsense was one-sided in that Higgins was just outright rude to our character. Did I win first place for best Workshop every year to spite him? Yes, yes I did. But that's not the same as literally accusing someone of a crime so they will give you a free tool.
On the writing front, certainly do hope they have more investment in the writing and character development for My Time at Sandrock. There are going to be less characters (assuming we don't hit the $600k Kickstart threshold) so it should be easier for the devs to manage.
Heh, I rob Higgins every single morning of whatever bar he has smelted outside his shop. Lots of early game copper and bronze that way. I figure if he is going to be a total asp for no reason I will give him something to be ticked off about.
I suppose then the turn-around would be more of an accomplishment. Seems a bit of an odd exploit - did the developers intentionally leave a way for us to steal from Higgins? You know, beside looting all those chests around town like we're Link from Legend of Zelda.
i didn't steal from him my first play through, but he was such a total jerk that I did in subsequent ones.
