I prefer controller but it's only pro is being able to play anywhere in the room. As for mouse and keyboard, inventory management is super easy, swapping tools is faster and aiming is easier to name a few pros.

Yeah the pros to the controller for me is that I can play on the couch which is more comfortable than sitting infront of the computer, also i tend to play third person games with controller, and lastly when I play with mouse & keyboard my fingers hurts after a while, my pinky hurts mostly I think.

So the pros of the keyboard & mouse would be its easier management in inventory and i guess precision when you plant things, im guessing haven't played the game yet.
Cons for me would be, I cant play as long as it makes my finger hurt and the office chair isnt as comfortable as the couch.

Unless you placed your couch in front of the pc like i did. Heh.

PS:
Additionally to play on pc for a long time in comfort i'd recommend to wear a fingerless glove on the hand which you use to move mouse around, you'll eventually get why.

I don't get how a fingerless glove on the mouse hand is supposed to help, btw my pinky on the left hand hurts, my right hand whitch is the mouse hand does not hurt when i play on keyboard & mouse for a while.

I'm almost always using the controller for everything, unless the support is really useless

I have my pc on my tv and sit on the couch so these days i tend to use controller if it's available. In fact, i don't really play many games anymore that don't have controller support.

I do have my keyboard and mouse on a little table right near me though, so it's not a biggy just to switch to mouse when i'm managing inventory. Tbh, inventory management is always gonna be a giant pain on controller, there's just no good way around that, so i'm happy to just switch over temporarily when i need to. Having said that, Portia doesn't do so bad on that score, it's certainly better then most games.

I'm in my 40's and have been gaming all my life, and for long periods at a time. Sitting at a desk on k+m is a recipe for disaster. So at this age, it becomes a choice of if i wanna stop playing so much...or switch to controller? I know which one i choose :D

I use the Logitech G13 macro pad for most gaming, it is so much more comfortable. Really depends on the game if I use a controller or not. This one I use the macro pad/mouse combo.

I play with the mouse and keyboard. I don't like playing with the controller

Could just be my configuration or a bad controller but I think fishing is a lot easier with mouse and keyboard in MTAP.

I prefer mouse and keyboard. it functions well, and I can't see the task bar if I'm playing for far away anyways.

The g13 was my favorite for years. I wish they never discontinued it. Now I'm stuck with a razor orbweaver, which has less buttons.
