Horses, rent or buy?
I built the stable and I was thinking about buying a horse, the 15000 one, but I saw some old posts saying renting is better and the loyalty thing don't work.
Which is better? Is the loyalty feature implemented?

Loyalty doesn't matter. I would suggest simply buying the best horse so you'll have the best steed possible and never have to worry about waking up to your horse being repossessed overnight when its lease is up. If you can't afford a horse now, then place a llama trap (it's near your land) and raise one of those until you get the gol necessary to afford the white horse.
i thought renting horse is better at first because it's only 500g a week and all the stats is maxed until i raised my own llama and maxed their stats, they are better than a rented horse so i'd assume that buyable horse would be better too once their stats are maxed.. they are not cheap tho

The white horse is best. It doesn't take too long to train the horse up to max stats, and once you do, you're absolutely set for the game.

You should definitely save your money and buy that white horse later game stage when you have level 3 worktable.

Liama you can`t get for free and if you train him to max then you probably gonna be very happy with him at least when you use him in town at the morning.
Train him each day before you go to sleep , training him to max is fast and easy and you should give them lettuce as food all the time.

You can rent that white horse on the horse race and then you have time to take 3 race on that longest race track and win them all.

That white horse is a pain in the a.... because he is never happy but he is the fastest one.

I guess it depends on your money situation. The 15K didn't really hurt me at the time, so I just bought that one, and a stable.

You can feed the white horse wheat or rice and it will be happy.
Rice can be bought and wheat can be planted all year round.
It is the best ride to win the contest in autumn if trained to max. Keep in mind that the two different racing contests have different prices. The time run is more difficult but earns you more medals than trying to be faster than the townsfolk.
If you lack the cash, go fishing every evening and catch some kingfish - it is a very easy way to make money.

That always felt irrelevant, and you can win with the horse that the contest gives you.

However, I never went anywhere without my horse. It just moves so much faster, and the dee-dees can only take you into the general area, not to your exact destination unless you really want to go to that one place next to the stop :-)

Also, seeing the kind of food that the lama wants, I decided to go with the horse and never tried to tame the lama. I just grew some wheat every now and then, no problem. I had 4 fertilized small planter boxes, and more often than not they didn't even grow anything at all.

@Kargor: Did you check the growth seasons on the seed packages? There are some crops that will grow any time but others are limited to one or two seasons. (Well rainbow flower grows any season, no matter what the package sais.)

I rented for a while until I started needing the money saved up. So I chose to buy a horse to save the long term need

The colorful bunnies are cheapest and trained have the same stats as the 10,000 horse, if you don't want to waste money on a horse.

Don't you mean llamas?

The horses also like wheat. If you want to win the horse riding competition, the white horse is a fair bit faster than the other ones.

Only if you're really in need of a mount, cause when you finish the story you also get a ''mount''. But before that, it may come in handy.

Pretty stupid comment dude , the first thing everyone should do in this game is to get a mount as a free one and that is a Liama.
All you need to do is to save money as fast you can by doing commition quest every day from day one and buy just a little land and squeeze in one stable and make one trappbox and then start to train him from day one two times each 24 hour in the game.

This you can do even before you are able to rent a horse if you put some work into it.

That free mount is a game-changers and gonna speed up everything in the game as the economic from the very first time you get that free Liama and they are easy and fast to train.

I mean, I do not judge anybody that would prefer to go through the whole game without a mount and get it only after the end game? But I agree with Symatrix. On my first playthrough, after I got a mount the game felt so much more relaxed and enjoyable, as I could rush everywhere around the map with it, so much so I barely used the Dee-Dee transportation in game.

On my second playthrough it was my #1 priority.
