Does anyone see NPC icons on their map?

I saw in an update quite some time ago that you are meant to see NPC's icons (little mini versions of their face) on your map once you've reached a certain friendship level with them.
I have started a new game as of a few weeks ago, and have several NPC's at "Friend" level and Arlo and Pinky at "good friend" level and with none of them do I ever see their face on the map.

Is this something they removed, or is there an issue/bug with it?
The only time I ever see anyone on a map is when they have a desire (the red starburst looking icon) on the map.
There was a time on an old save of mine, at least 5 months ago, where I did see NPC icons once I reached the appropriate friendship level with them. I remember specifically seeing Gust and Gales faces on my map in that save, but this new game that I've made I see nobody ever.

Not that it's a huge issue since I've basically memorized my favorite NPC's schedule/route but it would really be nice and convenient to see them on my map once I've reached friend level at least... :(

Yes...you just need to activate it on the map. There is a button to manage, what you want to see on the card.

If enabled - the faces appear once you reach a certain level of relationship. But I'm not sure, if it requires two hearts/stars or more...

On the map go into the filters and turn it on. It is off by default.

Once they are your friend, their face appears on the map if you have it ticked ....

Oh good lord, I can't believe I didn't see that... Sorry for the stupid question hahah I thought it was just a default thing since it happened automatically in my first save.

Ignorance is not stupidity. There's nothing wrong with simply not knowing something.

It's after you know the somethings where all the stupid comes in.

You should never feel dumb for asking to know what you don't know, and shame on anyone trying to make you feel that way just for trying to be a better you.

Between us - I found it out on my own coincidentally & can therefore fully understand this question...it is not something the game is making you actively aware of & without knowing, that this functionality exists, you can easily miss it...

Same btw. with another very useful functionality - displaying monsters on the card...even after playing this game 2/3 times - I'm using this feature...so I don't need to remember, where I need to go to find monsters...
