Hell no. Why buy it when you can get it for free. I go through way too much copper to be buying it, doubt Mars stocks as much as I use lol.

I can imagine that this really sucks if you're color blind and can't immidiately notice the difference in the textures.
It'd be nice if the color was a bit more distinct, but it's not a huge deal since you can tell them apart as is.
Pay attention to the color and texture of the rock in the mines. The rock that contains copper ore has a different look from the rocks that give sand and stone. You'll find it's easy to get copper once you learn to recognize the rock it comes from.
(BTW, once you have the second tier pick, you ought to be able to make this on day one, but, at the very least, well before the end of the second day, you can get a significant amount of copper from the surface rocks scattered around the village.)
