Panbat Infestation Mission Help

Ok, I had played the game on early access and full release but never finished. Now I'm playing through again since I pre-ordered it for my Switch and want to plan ahead. However during my previous rounds I was able to get the Panbat Infestation Mission but I have been through 2 attempts and have yet to receive it yet. I'm on my third try and on the wiki it says to wait for Gale to say that there's an infestation then to head to the Tree Farm and kill a panbat that is level 20 or higher. Can someone confirm this and If it isn't how it unlocks please tell me how. I hear some people are several years in without getting the mission.

its not gale .. its Dawa i think his name is that works at the tree farm .. he sends you a letter i believe if memory serves me correctly - after completing fixing the fence at the Tree Farm.

The mission has been changed completely.
It will only trigger a while after the bridge to Amber Island mission is completed.
Gale will mention a possible panbat plague during one of the fireside meetings in the evening.
A while after that the official mission can be started by a letter from Dawa from the treefarm, asking you to come for a visit.
Where you may accept or decline the mission.
The panbat plague can no longer be averted by simply destroying the panbats (they would just respawn).
You have then to visit the science center and get further instructions.

Will it be one of the regular fireside meetings that only have text bubbles or one where a letter is recieved?

I completed the bridge 2 weeks ago (in game) and no town hall meeting has mentioned the panbat infestation yet. It is now summer and since the wiki mentions spring does this mean i have to wait a year now? Can it be triggered in other seasons?

I rarely go to the fireside meetings LOL - so all i got was the letter in the mail - went to the Tree Farm and got that mission. (a bit after fixing the fence mission)

Now it's been a month and no mission. I'll play through to spring 28 of year 2 and if there is nothing I'll restart and try to get the bridge done by spring 14 and turn in the wood for the fence. Maybe by doing it in that order will work.

The removable battery one. I could complete it any time I want but I have been upgrading my equipment and trying to expand my property

That isn't far enough into the game for the panbat quest.

If I recall the order correctly, it's after the missions to install the battery and to repair the tree farm fence. I just received a letter in the mail one day from Dawa. It was not immediately after Gale made a passing reference to the panbats at a meeting. I don't recall if it was before or after the mission to build the Dee Dee Stops & Transports.
