Should I date Albert or Gust?
Originally I was gonna go with Gust but now I'm unsure. I'd like to hear your guys experience when dating them so I can decide, down below is just me explaining my pros and cons with both characters.

When I became friends with Albert he started saying things like "I think you are good, you deserve better than those girls." as well as "Let's play sometimes. You certainly have my attention." which got me swooned a little bit and Albert always invites me to play while Gust does not. BUT Albert talks and worries about other girls a lot, especially Ginger, so that part is the downside.

While with Gust, I have him at best friend level but he doesn't exactly asks if I want to hang out and he mostly talks about QQ and never hints or shows any interest for the main character, but the benefits of being with him are a lot more beneficial, aka the discounts. I like the cutscenes I've had of him so far, his past and parts of his personality reminds me of Gill from Harvest Moon, plus he's attractive

If you can be a lover with multiple people you can get 20% store discount from Gust without marrying him, marrying him only gets that to 25% which is not that big of a diference. I feel like Albert cares more about Ginger because he keeps mentioning her and you do some quests between them, but Gust on the other hand is too self centered (work) to be someone that I feel like wants a relationship beyond friendship. It's a tough choice, I personally wouldn't choose any of those since there are other NPCs that feel like a better choice.

Yeah I'm with Boboscus here, why choose those guys when you could go for Dr Xu who is a romantic, Mint who's very sweet, or many others really? Get the max perks you can from them without marrying them, and romance nicer people :p But hey it's your call.

Second this opinion!

I have played most of the Harvest Moon series and I loved Stardew Valley but the character interactions in Portia!

I went with Dr. Xu because I wanted to play more of the farm aspect and wanted a helping hand, and also because his character design is one of my favourites. (I dont really like Gust's attitude and Albert has this 'player' vibe going on, so both of them were not for me >_<)

I have to say I was extremely surprised regarding the part that Dr. Xu asked my character to be with him with a really cute quest and never in similar games that I've played before the NPC would make a move!

If you are unsure just remember that you can always divorce someone when you think you want to try another route, or make a new character.

Why go through the trouble of marrying Xu to divorce him when you can marry someone that divorces you?

Marry Albert and dump him once you finish upgrading your house, then do the same to Gust to decorate your house. Just don't have kids, you don't want the emotional connection.

Gust will give you children with beautiful hair. Albert comes with that silly hat. The choice seems clear...go with nearly anyone else. :D

Thanks for your advice guys, I'm used to everything being permanent in games that I forget that I have other options. I wanted to marry Mint when I saw him on alpha but now I don't want to because his voice makes me cringe, I know that sounds bad of me to say but it's like hearing a kitten quack when it should meow, it just doesn't quite fit you know what I mean? I'll try out Dr.Xu since you guys recommended him.

It IS ... he weighs 14 pounds, so basically overweight .. he's a BIG boy but ..... I say we should have named him Mike Tyson ... BIG BOY itty bitty voice

He’s not a stalker, (unlike Albert), he has a dream he continues to chase, he’s super attractive, and he’s totally not willing to sacrifice his flesh and blood in exchange for power (unlike the character they totally based him off).

why are you assuming, they based him on someone else? Gust is a typical stereotype, focused on his job + cold towards you + sister complex = he's the kind of character who's heart you have to warm up through loving friendship bla bla bla. There's plenty of those in any kind of romance game you can think of. They also tend to be the prettiest, to lure you in, since there's nothing else going for them in the beginning :'D
