Factory Question

I've already unlocked it so was wondering is it better to put things like comprehensive cutter and grinder which boost both Furnace and Cutter or Grinder or the single version of all those? (Like Industrial Furnace,Grinder,Cutter,etc.) I've got two comprehensive cutter's and grinder's and just wondering whether its worth it to make those or just the Industrial version's thanks!

Yes as it give you more smelting slots in addition to the cutter or grinder slots. Once I had the factory I just moved my whole operation into it, at the time I had 2 Electric Furnace, 2 Adv Skiver, 4 Industrial Furnace, 4 Comprehensive Cutters, 2 Comprehensive grinders and 4 blenders.

It depends on just how much you need of whatever you're making, but the numbers each machine gives can help you make the decisions. (as far as furnace is concerned)

Industrial Furnace = 10 Furnace

Industrial Cutter = 10 Cutter
Comprehensive Cutter = 4 Cutter, 6 Furnace

Grinder = 6 Grinder
Comprehensive Grinder = 4 Grinder, 6 Furnace

As there's no Industrial Grinder, I'd recommend using Comprehensive Grinders in place of Furnaces, as 2 Comp. Grinders = 8 Grinder and 12 Furnace, whereas 1 Grinder and 1 Indust. Furnace would be 6 Grinder and 10 Furnace, so it'd be more efficient, space-wise when it comes to fulfilling your Grinder/Furnace needs.

Furnace is usually what you'd need more of, so even if Comp. Grinders/Cutters have only a value of 4 for their respective machines, the Furnace scores of 6 are good, especially if you're working purely from raw materials like Ores.


Just be sure you install some Advanced Skivers, Blenders, and Elec. Furnaces, maybe 2 of each just to be sure you have all your bases covered, at least a little.

With a Lv1 Factory having 20 slots, I'd maybe go with
4 Adv. Skivers (40 total)
2 Blenders (12 total)
2 Elec. Furnaces (20 Total)
6 Comp. Cutters (24 Cut, 36 furnace)
6 Comp. Grinders (24 Grind, 36 furnace)

Or sacrifice 2 of the Adv. Skivers for more of either of the Comp Cutters/Grinders.

Well yeah I meant just Grinder sorry probably should of worded that better I spent the first two in game years not doing quests but building up my machines when I went into the factory itself I had 1 Industrial Furnace,1 Electric,1 Blender,1 Comprehensive Grinder,1 Comprehensive cutter,1 Advanced Skiver. I just figured I'd need more and was curious about which was most efficient.

You usually need cutters lot more then grinders so I have 3 Comprehensive Grinders, 3 Comprehensive Cutters and 2 Industrial Cutters in there.
