I was never here for a time when you couldn't set that date though. I bought the game after its full release and I am commenting on the state of the game as it is as I first see it.
This!
You don't like having [insert correct Hulu brother's name - the one with the boat] welcome you to Portia years after you arrived?
Also a bit off-topic but the bird sounds is like a mosh pit as soon as you enter the trees! They sound like they're being attacked by were-cats and possum-snakes!
However, seeing Alice (who I was dating at the time) be the first one who showed up and leave me a bouquet of roses was pretty sweet.
It would be nice to see that in game and I have some time on my hands so I wouldn't mind typing lines out to be spoken by characters that would give an idea as to which gifts should be given.
A "speech bubble" system would also be really cool. For example characters could talk to each other and speech bubbles would pop up. These small conversations could range from talk about totally random things to "I like when it's raining, it means the <filename> will be biting today and I love <food dish> or for a character in the round table "I'll have my usual please!" "Okay one <dish name> coming up!" Or characters talking about prices at fireside meetings (which happen regularly, even if you're not invited, there just isn't any dialogue so I assume the developers intend to do something with this) I'm not in any hurry. I like the game as is, however having to check the wiki for gifting or do it via trial and (expensive) error both feel really artificial. The game feels really natural for the most part and you can just jump right in which I love about the game, though gifting requires wiki checking to not make mistakes at. Another way to make gift giving more natural without the dialogue options would be for someone who doesn't like their gift to give it back to you with "sorry but I really don't need this" or a dialogue line such as that, but you still get a negative personality modifier, that means it isn't a double loss.
I had absolutely nothing for my ingame birthday so be thankful !
#sadness
minimum a letter of celebration ...
Ummmmm I usually get Dual Birthday Party ... and only set up ONE table with family/close friends .... less than can sit at the table.
