Please give me some tips on mounts

I recently bought a stable and got the cotton llama. Even though it has full stats, it is significantly slower than the rental horse.

I plan to keep the llama since it is just waaaaayyy too cute to give up, but I am wondering whether it is worth it to purchase the horses at Mcdonalds'.

With a fully trained horse will it be better than the rental one?

A fully trained White Horse (from Macdonald) is probably the best mount in the game, once fully trained.

Better than the rental in all regards at this point, but was the Cotton Llama really that much slower than the rental?
I thought its speed was just a few points lower.
Maybe it just felt slower, because it was bigger, and thus the animations were slower.

Get the white horse if you feel feeding the cotton llama is a pain in the but, but for some reason its fun to change mount one at a time.
In the end you get your ultimate mount Flying Robo Pig (but it wouldn't follow you arround like normal mount)

@Iyasenu The stamina depletion for sprinting and jumping was a couple of times faster than the rented horse so even if the speed might be similar the total distance I could cover seemed a lot less.

A trained white horse is the best - so fast, and it moves smoothly. I can't use llamas because their up and down jumping makes me nauseous. They are very cute, though. (:
