Any reason to feed mounts?
I have a white horse and he's always got a yellow or red mad face on the info panel. I put snakeberries in but not that many. Do they eat a lot or something? Should I feed them something else? I don't want to waste resources though.

It doesn't really feel like a "waste" to me. I've stockpiled some wheat and just use that, and when I run out I can just buy some seeds from Sophie again. It doesn't feel expensive at all, especially since most of the time I don't even know what to grow in my planter boxes (in fact, one of my two large boxes is unoccupied since I couldn't decide what to put there..).

Same with the shed animals. They get plant fiber, which I keep getting left and right anyway.

I don't have a coop yet, but I'm assuming it's going to be the same.

I just feed the horses wheat. I have tons of it in Ack's helper's chest, so it doesn't feel like an expense.

@Kargor: If you still have some big planter boxes free, then put crystella trees in them - you'll need crazy amounts of crystals and saphires later for a quest.

I don't feed the mounts. You just get occasional animal feces if you feed them. It doesn't affect the way they ride or anything.

A little advice: get more large planter boxes and use them to grow crystals trees, a lot of them, thanks me later....

If you want to make your horse happy, feed it pumpkins (or sugar).

Is there a reason to make your horse happy?

I set up 5 small planter boxes specifically to grow wheat for my horse. Keep them well fertilized everyday and you'll get alot, even more so with the harvesting perk. Also with wheat you should get a fair amount of wheat seeds, which means you'll pretty much never run out of wheat, just keep an eye on how much fertilizer they need and how much you've got. I keep my horse's feed topped up every few days. Also petting your horse 3 times a day (usually in a row) everyday gets it to be happier and less likely to buck you off, so i've read.
The fertilizer thing also applies to anything you grow, keep your stuff well fertilized to gain the most out of them (espcially crystal trees).

I've never heard of anyone being bucked off their horse, where did you read that at?

Bucking horses was built but never implemented into the game.

The white horse loves rice and likes wheat. I'm not sure what the brown horse's preferences are, but wheat is the best/safest thing to grow for any of the farm animals and horses. If you want to catch and tame the Cotton Llama (the large white "boss" llama with the sunglasses), it loves rice.

Glad they decided not to add it.
