I can't make a boombox.

It says I don't have the plans, I can't get the plans from anywhere. I even thought I made a boombox. It doesn't show on my assembly list.

I'm even near doing the bad deal quest, so I believe I'm past the point where I should have it.

I have everything the tech place offers and purchased everything they offered to me from the one area where you buy plans.

I'm stuck, please advise, thanks in advance.

If you need something for a quest, the game either gives you a plan for it automatically, or they tell you to go to the research center and they'll get it to you for 5 data discs on the following day.

Thanks, but it wasn't a quest, it was an order for one.

I've picked up everything I can at the research center, they won't take my disks and the area where you can exchange them for plans doesn't have the plans. I've purchased everything they have in the exchange area....

Then I think you just got a bad deal. Advance the main questline and you'll be able to make one eventually.

Have you done the "Panbat infestation" mission yet? During that mission, you give Petra 5 Data disks and wait a day or two for delivery of the boombox diagram. You should also be able to buy the Boombox Diagram from the Research Center Exchange for 23 Data Discs, but again that may not be available until the mission triggers it. If you got the request as one of the Commissions, and aren't to the "Panbat Infestation" mission yet, you may want to consider loading a save from before you took that commission so it doesn't hold you up in your progression.

She won't take anymore disks from me and the area where you trade them in doesn't list a boombox. I have everything there already...

I've a problem with the boombox, went with the loudspeaker for the panbat quest. I've just bought the boombox plans from the research centre for 25 discs, right clicked it and cannot find it anywhere. I've just closed down and hope to find it next time I log on.

try total tools, i had a bunch of recipes show up there. Also, the mysterious man occasionally has a bunch of recipes, thought they've always been ones i had already learned.
