Just tell him, when you have the choice (the "talk" with him). They are just not compatible. You can still romance either, whichever floats your boats. Nora is a gem. Many like Arlo.

Arlo is "my" go-to man - even if I romanced/married other characters in the game to get the achievements, I usually get back to Arlo. Bugs me every time when he talks about Nora :). As jabuka said, you can romance him or Nora no matter that dialogue.

It's highly situational in real life as well. Just because someone fell in love with someone else doesn't mean, that you shouldn't be nice to them anymore^^ And if they fall in love with you, then it's nothing to feel bad about.

Why would it bother to date Ginger because of Gust though? They are just siblings, and if you're a friend of Gust he stops checking on her on dates anyway. Though the second point is fair, but because of Gust it just seems like no one could date anyone with siblings. Since they are half-orphans it makes sense they take care of eachothers aswell as bcs of other things.

Albert likes Sonia; If you keep pairing the NPC's off with each other, you'll have no one left for yourself; Believe me, you are irresistible to most of the NPC's; Have fun & don't worry so much. You can turn any NPC's head if you wish it. Some of them have been programmed to like each other. You can easily change their mind. That's part of what the game is all about. *psst* It's not RL ~~ they are NPCs. If you make no move for anyone of them, just remember, they are not programmed to make a move on you, unless you show major interest in them & then they'll show up in front of your house for dates. (You can miss an opportunity for them to propose marriage.) No matter, you can ask them. They are programmed to like/ love you if you are male, female, green or purple ~~ it matters not to them.

completely true, my female builder married nora in an attempt to get her away from that asshat lee, of course arlo was dating her at the time but hey, you snooze you lose.

Arlo & Nora two NPC with completely different characters-they really aren't compatible.Nora likes to grow plants ,preaching,listen to stories,destroys relics(church-really creepy) , you can't spar with her. Arlo is a trained fighter ,he wants to join The Flying Pigs,and the relics found by Civil Corps are taken to Research Center. Arlo says he is rather attracted to Nora,not that he has feelings for her.And by the way ,Arlo doesn't date only Nora but also date Mei at South Block(Tuesday and Thursday morning). So who has feeling for Nora ? Maybe Lee because is her only friend !

Hmm I had the same feeling until when I confessed to Arlo he said if I was kidding and laughed it off. Literal pain in me chest. The boi is hard to get.

Any of the npc's might react that way depending on how many hearts you have with them and how many social skills that you have on the tree, it's just part of the programming that they reject the confession once in a while, keep asking and he will accept eventually.

In the conversation with Arlo he says that he always thought of Nora as a little sister, that's why he is asking for advice on how to handle her confession, it gave me the impression that he really wasn't that into her, she was doing the pursuing, it's just a jealousy angle that they threw into the story.
