How to make the Irrigation tower work?

Title. I saw one comment on the wiki how you are supposed to also put flooring under it but the game doesnt allow me even if it shows green.

That works regardless of which order. But doesnt work for the tower itself which according to the wiki its also required.

^That, and also make sure everything is placed completely on irrigation flooring and not half on normal lawn. Tower ad big planter boxes need 4 plates each, small planter only needs 1.
If you have to remove the irrigation plates later set the 'in use'-planter boxes safely aside first and then use the vacuum cleaner to get rid of multiple tiles at once.

Problem is placing them for the tower. If i place flooring first then tower, the tower is red. If i do it opposite the flooring is green but still doesnt let me.

try rotating the tower a few times. Make sure you have clearance between the egdes of the tower and the fence or any buildings or equipment in the yard too.

Just curious, are you using a tower you built, or the one purchased from the church? Because it only works with the purchased one.

The irrigation tower worked for me yesterday. Place the flooring from the church, the tower needs a 2x2 square, connect the square to the place you want the planter boxes (the large ones also need a 2x2 square of irrigation flooring). Place tower and boxes on the irrigation flooring. Add fertiliser to the tower. I had a group of 6 large planter boxes yesterday, and if you add the maximum 30 fertiliser to the tower, they became at least 3/4 full.

Will a spouse refill the irrigation tower? Or i gotta do it manually

Use the axe on it twice. Or use a vacuum cleaner to remove everything in the area

helpers will refill the tower with fertilizer if you have it in the helper storage.

every single "cell" must be covered by floor to work, if you missalign anything, it won't work, and it's VERY hard to place things properly ATM

Something that might trip people up with a controller (not sure if it's the same on keyboard) is that if you have the irrigation tower set and try to place a tile, the place button for the tile and the refill button for the irrigation tower are the same button (X on an Xbox controller). So it thinks you're trying to fuel the tower with the tile and not fertilizer and won't let you place the tile. You have to fiddle around with where your character is standing and facing in order to not accidentally activate the tower and place the tile
