Relationship Decay
I married Gust a few in-game days ago and we were at a full 12 hearts and then for some reason he's dropped 1 and a half hearts all of sudden?? I don't think I did anything to cause this? XD

Besides this I did want to kind of ask/suggest there be a button in the settings to turn off relationship decay full stop. I know lots of people like having the added challenge and realism of relationships decaying over time but I personally (and this is my personal opinion) don't. I find having to keep on top of every relationship tiring and draining when I really want to focus on my favourite characters. And I know I could just do that anyway buuut I am also a completionist and want to max everyone out. Just without the added effort of keeping them liking me. So it would be very nice if there was a very optional button to stop the decay of friendship points. XD

(And as I've had it before in other forums, this is my opinion before people start saying things like 'the game doesn't need it' or 'it would ruin the point of the game' and it would be perfectly optional. So if you didn't want to use it you wouldn't have to. But I, and hundreds of others, definitely would! :) )

I thought they'd removed relationship decay at some point in development; does this mean it's back again? If so I second thesuggestion for an option to turn it off since relationship decay is my least favorite feature in games like these.

A bit curious though, did you give him a gift he hated or go on a date with someone else? That might've affected things.

There IS no relationship decay in the game. Too many complaints about it. So ... something happened .... in your relationship.

This. The EA players were very vocal about not wanting relationship decay so the developers took it out.

Ahhh! I am so glad to hear that! Thanks for letting me know! The wiki is out of date then. :) I use that as reference when I don't know something and it was talking about how if you don't speak to them in 5 days or something they start dropping. That's a load off of my mind haha XD

I might have done, I honestly can't remember. I don't think I did, but I don't check the social screen every day so it's possible lol.

You have lost nothing, the update has added additional 2 hearts.

OP said they were at 12 hearts. Max IS 12 hearts.

So either something happened to upset the spouse, or it's probably a bug.

I think I figured out what happened lol. We were Soulmates before we got married. Then we got married and we went down 1 and a half hearts but remained at Soulmate level (I would assume the points to full 12 hearts increased) and then when I reached 12 hearts again we changed from Soulmates to Full Devotion? So I think it might have been us getting married and unlocking an extra level to the relationship. Just I didn't realise this would/could happen! :)

Ten hearts were maximum before update.

No, they were not. 12 hearts were added IN THE UPDATE.

From the patchnotes:

Adjusted the maximum value of the favor point between you and your spouse from 1000 to 1200. The other NPCs maximum value of favor points remains at 1000.

I started a new game for the update though so they were right about the max being 12 hearts in this case. :) I never bothered with relationships before the full release anyway haha. I think what happened was purely Gust was my 'Soulmate' and then once we were married there was another level we could reach so the graphic appeared to go down while the actual value did not. It just confused me as I didn't know about it lol

I’d be careful if I were you. Gust resembles a certain somebody who sacrificed his friends in order to become a demonic god, so I’d say that heart loss is him preparing to do the deed.
