How many pets can you have in your home?

I just go the game and I now know there are 3 pets, and I was curious if I could have all 3 in my home at the same time. So far ive been investing my time into the cat, although if having the cat in my house means im locked out of the dog, or even better the pig, then I much rather know beforehand so I can begin investing into the pig instead.

You can befriend them all, though QQ the pig won't join you unless you marry Gust

You can also have fish, technically, but they're a pain to feed daily and give nothing lmao

Well you can breed fish - it is just not that easy.
At least since the last update the time for a new fish to spawn in a tank seems to be reduced.

Wait what? I had 3 fish in my tank for months and nothing new spawned in. ...Then again, all were different species, and I haven't played since right before the game left Early Access.
