Nothing happened on my Birthday
I am in spring of year 2 and I had my Birthday set to the 27th. Nothing happened. I got no special quest, no gifts, no mention from NPCs that I talked to etc. Was something supposed to happen and I had a bug? or is that normal?

That’s immersive af, tbh.

It's normal.
Oh, wait, you're talking about the game?

If you want something to happen, you need to have a birthday party. For that you need to buy/craft the party table (I don't remember the actual name of the item, South Block Motel sells it and the book) and invitations, then deliver them to people

Banquet table.

That sounds like a whole lot of trouble. I recommend gathering your bears and bunnys and sit them around the lonly girl music box and sing happy birthday to the tune.

If you're married your spouse gives you a quest 2 days before your birthday to throw a party. Then you need to set up a banquet table, get invitations and invite people, supply the food.... it is a lot of work BUT a good way of getting relationship points XD Also they leave gifts for you when they come! Also on your birthday your spouse gives you a present. Gust gave me a 'butterfly hairpin' that I then regifted to his sister when it was one of her desires LOL

I set up a banquet table. Handed out 10 envelope/invites to friends. Made their favorite food and almost the whole town came with presents. The food I had made was eaten by other NPC I didn't invite. It was still a nice party :)
The day after I reloaded my birthday just to see what would happen and only those who I had invited came this time.

Its just a little awkward that you have to plan your own birthday party.

Especially since I put a lot of work into the two birthdays that were just days before it for my friends. I wasn't expecting a party, but getting a gift in your mailbox would have been nice.

Ahh. Just like in real life then.

I’m truly impressed with the level of detail the devs put into the game for the sake of immersion. :cozybrawlhalla1:

Where do you guys come from? From where I am, the birthday person IS the one responsible for preparing the place, food, invitations and pay for the whole thing (unless one of your friends is organizing a suprise party, but that is a rare event and takes a special kind of person). And if you have no party, you get no gifts.

A gift in the mailbox or hey...! Even a dialogue change! Maybe it's because my chars birthday falls on the same day as Dr. Xu, but no one even acknowledged it was my birthday, not even the NPCs who were friends/buddies.

Portia tries to teach us a lot about life and our place in it. Today's lesson: No one is listening. No one cares. Go dig up some thousand year old crap.

:( But I play to escape the constant isolation that is my life.

Go. Outside.

I’m just teasin ya. A boomer would prob say “just go to a bar!”

To which my response is “and then what?”

If you’re the type of person who doesn’t drink or doesn’t go to bars, how the f- are you expected to get along with bar people? xD

Anyways, just go to a nerd event or something. You’ll find people. Plenty of weirdos out there :-)
