Autumn Festival

I have enter the contest many time through all my character that I have, I only won 2nd place once, most of them not. I fertilize them until they are fully grow and ready. Unless it is a bug!

It can be frustrating when you have diligently worked so hard looking after the crops. I noticed that I can check the size of those submitted by myself and other. I switch to one which is the biggest I have grown however sometimes you just can’t beat them. In that case I reload the day even then you may not get to the levels others have submitted.

I have also noticed that the pumpkin and bamboo papaya tend to be the biggest. As soon as the festival is over I start on next year’s crops. I wake up and plant one seed. If it is not a pumpkin or bamboo papaya; I reload until I get one. I then do the same the next day. They both come up at Colossal in size. Others like apple I have got giant or great, potato fruit and layered carrot - giant.

To win you have to buy "Mysterious seeds" from the "Mysterious Man". He comes to Portia on the 27th and 28th of every month. Once you have the seed and plant them you have to fertilze them and keep the fertilized bar full. The sure win is the "king" size produce. If you have "colossal you might win 50%.

Yeah, the way to win is to fully fertilize a "giant" seed.

I am assuming you are already planting the giant seed since you have managed to come second once.

I do get from mystery man, but I am now thinking after the festival over, you get mail and they give you a seed with a "?" I need not to toss it with the one from the mystery man. ty I will try that.

I had the lettuce, it look huge, but Nora had the pumpkin, and it was huge.

I had the same problem. Try the advice I gave above. I am about to go to the festival in 2 game days. I will update you on what happened with the pumpkin.

Okay, I am at the end of winter right now, I prefer Martial Arts and Snowball Battle. I haven't try the cooking yet, anyone try it yet? Hard? Most of the time I am always in a hurry doing something, and I get ACK for make my food. If I have all the ingredients

Get more than one giant seed if you are at the end of winter. They grow in any season.

I have tried cooking and did very well. They will give you a dish to make and a choice of ingredients to pick from. You need to know the ingredients needed or the recipe for the dish. I love martial arts the most.

"Mysterious seeds" can produce three different sizes: giant, colossal, and king.

This is interesting. I have accidentally grown several king apples, and intentionally grew a king carrot. Between me and Ack and my 14 large planters full of trees and giant seeds I managed to get those. I hope the king stuff will win it for me. I heard in another thread that king is how you get it the most reliably. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

I have managed to win all Autumn Fest when I entered "King" veggies or apple.

There is a fourth size - great. I have not managed to get king size but working towards it this time.

Posting this as I am at the festival. My Colossal sized pumpkin has been coming second in size. I have reloaded and on the third reload, it was the biggest (60.0) on display. Second to this was Higgins' potato (59. 63). Other items on display were apples, bamboo papaya and carrot. When it came to displaying the winning crops, Higgins' potato came first and Carol and Nora were both standing next to pumpkins in second and third. The interesting thing (or glitch) is that I was the only one that displayed a pumpkin!

"?"seeds that you win from the contest and from the "Mysterious Man" are the same. It's about keeping your plants fully fertilize while growing. You never know what it will be. It could give you from Great, Colossal, or King. It all depends on luck. Good luck.
