Can't place industrial furnace when crafting comprehensive cutter

Anyone else having this issue? I have an industrial furnace that I'm trying to use to craft an comprehensive cutter. But when I try to place the furnace on the assembly station, nothing happens. I'm also unable to place the furnace in my inventory once I pick it up. Any ideas?

That seems quite uncomprehensible indeed.

Sorry bad pun, never had that issue. Maybe try picking it up and entering your house to see if it goes to your inventory at the loading screen or just comes back to where you picked it. If you unlocked the harbor you could try sucking it into your inventory using the vacuum cleaner.

If you picked it up using F and try placing it, it will not work.

Try using the vacuum cleaner as advised above however if you do not have one use the axe to get it into your inventory.

You pick it up with F and then press R so it actually goes in your inventory

Oh right, forgot about the axe method. Gotta hit it twice with it.
