The Fish King (Collected)
In the museum aquarium, when viewing the "Fish Species Collected", there's a legend on the right saying "The Fish King (Collected)" and "The Fish King (Uncollected)", with the former having a yellow crown symbol and the latter having just the outline of a crown.

Do I have to do something special to get the "Collected" crowns?

I've already filled the aquarium with all 13 unique fish, four of which have a gold star for the "Emperor" version, but every one just shows the "Uncollected" crown outline symbols.

You need to fish the king versions.

Thank you. I didn't realize there was a "king" version of every fish too.

Yep. Unfortunately, it's ultra rare. like 0.3% chance of a king, according to the Wiki.

The answer seems obvious in retrospect, but I guess I thinking there might be some "Fish King" NPC that I had not yet met. :steamfacepalm:

Aw, I caught a king fish yesterday and I sold it because I thought it was more common than that! Darn. At least I got some fat cash from it though.

It's easier to fish emperor and king versions during the fishing festival. You could always restart the day if you don't get any.

That is the sort of thing games like this would do so it's not silly to presume that. Good luck on your fish hunt

I don't even bother with regular/emperors, rather sell those or use them for cooking since you get all 3 rewards when you turn in all the kings.

There's something odd with collecting fishes. I've filled the aquarium with all 13 "normal/regular" fishes - I got a prize from the museum (Merlin). I've filled the aquarium with all 13 "EMPEROR" fishes - I got nothing (although I should get a master rod). I've filled the aquarium with 12 (TWELVE) "KING" fishes - I got a master rod BUT the 13th king fish is "wiser fish" (NOT "king wiser fish") so I can't finish collecting fishes for museum (Merlin). Does anyone understand anything from this?

They're rare. I did 104 hours on my first play through and only encountered one, and had one early during my 2nd play thru so far. Both times I spazzed and lost them quick. Very sad panda.

The normal fish is called WISE fish. WisER fish is the king wise fish.

I also didn't get the master rod when giving the emperors, but I did get it when giving the kings. Maybe they just changed it so the rod is the king's reward.

Did you give all 13 normal fish before giving the emperors, or did you give a few emperors immediatly and skipped some normals?

They are not rare at all. You will get each of them after fishing 10 minutes or so. I usually get 4-5 every day.

I skipped some normal and only got the reward for all the Emperor fish. I wonder if I try to add back in some of the missing normies if I'll get that reward, or if it's lost to me.

Same as me then. I got the sword and rod but not the King reward (the crystal fish tank). I think that's because we skipped normals, so the game thinks emperors are normals, and kings are emperors.

Oh, btw, you can buy the fish tank at the harbor, so the reward really doesn't matter.

For me, I got the rod, but never the sword. I'm not sure what I'll get once I finish the kings.
