When did they nerf fishing? When I played Fishing was quite lucritive and it was a wile after the initial release. What I am saying is that fishing may be "nerfed" but will still probably get you tons of money still.

Sorry didn't realize this thread was recently necroed. So John said the fish was nerfed back in Jan 2019 and I last played this in April 2020. I can confirm that unless fishing got another nerf. Fishing defiantly pays the bills quite quickly.

Consider Fishing. I've been playing for a few days (around level 25). Try fishing in the Collapsed Wasteland. Regular Wisefish is worth 320 Gols, Emperor Wisefish is worth 640 & the King Wisefish is worth a whooping 5000 Gols. Easy money I'd say

easiest is fishing, and sell all your unused or duplicated stuff
Don't forget to check at the stores for the sale value
if it's up until 120+ % then sell everything, if it's below 100%, don't

Started out with fishing at the beginning. It's accessible fairly fast (fishing rod quest was available in first few ingame days). And i used fishing spot right next to waterfall, which does not have any requirements. You need fishing bait (caterpillar), which can be bought in the farm - like 4 gol each.

In the waterfall you will find Goliath fish consistently, which sells for 350 each. With a chance of Emperor Goliath (star) - 700 each. With also low chance of Golden salmon and Goliath kings (5000 each). Occassionally you will find golden salmon that sells for 30, but it feels like goliath and golden salmon share the same chance to spawn.
If you have a perk that lets you see the fish before you choose to catch, then even better.

Got 20k in single day, in like first two ingame weeks. And to be honest it kinda felt like more money than i was supposed to have at that stage of the game.

Only problem is that it might be bit stressful as it's easy to loose Goliath with beginner rod. Depends on how used you are to these kind of minigames.

EDIT: After that i didn't fish all that much and just progressed with the commissions and quests and then money just piled up by itself. At the end of first month i got access to fishing tank which lets you breed fish, which apparently also lets you duplicate fish, even the ones that cost 5000 each... Got some 2 king fish and dropped them in the tank. Haven't gotten to the part where they duplicate yet, but wiki says it takes 8 days to breed. So if i managed to duplicate just enough fish and create even more tanks i could assume pretty hefty automatic income every 8 days. Sweet.

Once you unlock the desert trading shop you can get golden ginseng which you can capture Cotton Llamas that will always sell for 11k golds and you can do that once a day.

In theory, yes, but if you really want to make bank - FARM KINGS. I always have 16 breeding pairs - gold mine. And while you're trying to catch your kings, you'll get lots of other fish to sell.

Yeah, if you have the fishtanks, that's a good thing!
But tbh i never really used them :D i went out for fishing and sold everything (incl. the kings). This was enough money for everything. (and gave one to the museum of course)

im a newbie player been playing for 3 weeks now, and i started with difficulties paying for upgrade to my workshop, food to buy from npcs etc... till i found out that fishing is the key. now i have 180,000 and fully expanded my land.

not selling necklaces or whatever some websites claim is faster. but FISHING.
target the Goliath fishes 350g is good for beginners, cool if you get emperor for 750
but GREAT if you get KING fish any type of fish for 5000. save them up
reserve 1 for each type of fish to donate if you are in that kind of thing with museum.

BUT fishing and knowing when to sell the KINGs and the emperors = PROFIT.
sell when shop prices at 120% to 127% ... you wont be able to sell all your kings because NPC shops money are limited just keep them until the next time rates are high again.

I don't know why people bother with the Goliath fish, it's such a pain to catch, even with the upgraded fishing rod. Wise Fish are far easier and faster to catch and are only worth 30 Gol less.
