You Die in the Game....
So we all know what happens when you die in the hazardous ruins right? You get one more chance and if you die again you get teleported outside the ruins with no real problems except time passing.

Well, one night, a little past midnight in game, I just finished getting all the stuff I needed from the HR and was about to head home. Problem is, all of the Dee-Dees had stop functioning for the day and I had to walk all the way back to my house to go to bed or wait until 3am for my character to pass out. My character was pretty low on health from exploring the ruins a couple of times in the day and I really don't want to trudge through the wasteland to go home. But then I thought, wait a minute, this might be a good opportunity to see what happens when your character's health drops down to 0 in the overworld!

So I let the wasteland creatures have their way with me. Even with my health at around 70 it still took a while for them to do any real damage but they eventually did it. Now, my experiences with this game so far have not been difficult. Grindy and annoying at times sure, but I've never felt anything close to frustration while playing this game. You barely get punished for dying in the ruins and you don't get any penalties from staying up too late. So when I died in the overworld, I was expecting something like Stardew or Rune Factory where I get teleported to the hospital with the doctor giving me a stern scolding and a rather pricey fee. Or even just the game transporting me to the nearest check point like what the hazardous ruins have been doing. But nope!

I died. I didn't just pass out, I literally died from getting pecked to death by birds and slurpees. I lost all of my progress for the day and only had the option to either load my old save or go back to the menu. No hospitals, no checkpoints, nothing.

I laughed. I didn't know what I was expecting but dying for real definitely wasn't one of them. Anyway, this is less of a complaint and more of me just laughing at my own stupidity and misfortune but uhhh it'd be nice if that didn't happen if you run out of health in the overworld. It's super unlikely with how weak a lot of the enemies are but still.

Well, I was about to do the test myself, so thanks for sharing the results :)

I got a game over by one of those birds too once, and it was right after I finished 2 full runs of the sewers dungeon so I lost all that progress, wasn't a lot of fun but it was my fault I guess.

I do not like this update to the game at all. Especially since you can't save the game in any other way except sleeping, so you're losing an entire day of work. You used to not die, you'd just be taken out of the wastes by the Corps I believe. (I haven't played in a long while) So when I came back and saw a new monster in the wastes I went to mess with it and ran out stamina (I was level 17, it was 25) and it killed me pretty quick by crying.

Fortunately you kind of have to try to die in the overworked, but it doesn't really make sense that you are fine if you die in a dungeon but a goner of you lose in the world.

If you lose the fight in the cave with Huss and Tuss you also get a game over screen.
