When there is an update the trees in the yard might be back though and the place might have to be cleared again.
I believe that they respawn a bit quicker if you don't remove the stumps, but they still respawn even when you do.
Update: Just realised that I'd misread part of the post. The trees regrow, even if you remove the stump, but they might regrow faster, if you leave the stump. Exception: Trees in the yard don't regrow. Exception to the exception: If the game switches to a new alpha version, the trees in the yard might actually regrow once. But any removal of them will be permanent [or until the next alpha update].
Wasn't that exactly what I said? That only the trees in the yard don't regrow?
