Suggestion about crafting times
Hi everyone. I've spent a lot of time playing Portia and I came to this conclusion. As semi casual player, going back to the level one mine (almost) every day to loot copper and to spend my day crafting Steel bars there's something I don't understand.

I upgrade my furnaces for example but despite the ability to craft more at the same time it's still very slow to craft copper bars.

Would it be possible to have previous Tier craft faster with new machines ? With an electric furnace I should be able to expedite the low tier material isn't it ?

For me it's artificial play time added without any reason. If I want to be first at the workshop ranking I've to make a ... load of furnaces, making old stuff again and again without any real fun. I know that this kind of game is based on grinding but it's excruciating at the moment. Hard to enjoy when I've to run a Tesla mega factory and try to milk my cows and at the same time desperately trying to date someone that will eventually help me grind later ...

I finished the first year and I start not having fun anymore despite a really lovely game.

I love the work that you do, and I know the game is still evolving. I would really appreciate some kind of real upgrade when I switch to more advanced technology, not just new components. Or maybe tweak the recepies to not include old tier craft component to new products ?

Anyway thanks for your time.

There are a few ways to increase crafting speed:
1. Build more furnaces - if you let more than one furnace melt copper at the same time that of course increases your yield.
2. Build the Allcutter and the Allgrinder - they can create copper, bronze, steel and aluminum machine parts without the need to make ignots first.
3. Build the factory - even easier to make lots of the same material at the same time as long as you have ores, though only available after theharbor is complete.
4. Beat the monsters in the hazardous ruins for some machine parts - they do drop copper wire and rods or ignots on occasion.

And you can always buy more ores at total tools or once you met Dana and fulfilled her quest have ores home delivered.
Another way to find copper ore without visiting the ruins is quarrying the boulders outside the town walls or on amber island.

This and the rest of your post indicate you did read or understand the op.

He’s explicitally stating that he does not want to have to create multiple high-powered machines in order to crank out the required materials.

I agree, better furnaces should have faster craft times. As it is now, it’s simply an unenjoyable grind.

While I can understand some forms of grinding can be implemented well and made fun, the way Portia handles it at this time is not too appealing.
