This must be one of the most vapid and shallow comments i have ever seen in regards to character design.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calabash_Brothers
Their names match (big brother, second brother etc) and so do the order of the colours.
Just checked the birthday calender, the three oldest ones have Autumn 15 as their birthday, the four youngest have Autumn 16. Their mother must have had the worst pregnancy ever.
I didn't ask for them to be super attractive Fabios; I simply shared my personal response to the character's design, which I believe is what the designers want. I'm not the only person who thinks these charaters are lacking individually and desirability. I've read many blogs about this game, and these charaters are listed as least liked by many. You may think that's shallow, but if a large amount of people dislike the characters due to appearance, the designer's need to be informed, which was the purpose of my comment.
Also, individually is still a thing when it comes to septuplets. Just because you are a septuplet, doesn't mean you want to wear similar fashioned clothing as the rest. I imagine you'd like to be viewed as your own person. Just food for thought..
As JVC mentioned they are a reference to some characters from a chinese animated tv show, which is why there are seven of them, why they aren't particularly attractive and why their outfits are different colours of the same clothing.
Just because characters are dateable, does not mean that their whole purpose is to be dated.
That's understandable for character design, but why make all of them bachelors if their "purpose" isn't to be dated? Why not make a few of them bachelors, the rest non-romancable, making room for more individual bachelors? The bachelorettes have a large variety of characters, why can't the bachelors?

The option to date any of the hulu brothers is an extra, a bonus. You cannot reasonably complain that these bonus options are not as good as the other options, because they aren't taking the place of some other romanceable character.
It brings to mind the adage 'don't look a gift horse in the mouth'.
The devs had no obligation to make the hulu brothers dateable, but they did anyway which is great.
If you complain everytime you are given a small bonus or an extra option then the next time the devs are considering adding in an extra option they'll go 'our playerbase just complains that the extra options aren't as good as the normal options, so there's no reason to give them extra options in the first place'.
If you are given a bonus never complain that the bonus is too small, because more often than not the alternative to a small bonus isn't a large bonus, it's no bonus.
I'm always glad when the devs give me extra options, especially for things like romance choices.
I really don't feel anything for any of the marriageable characters really, so I don't bother to stand up for or against any of them.
Also, some people might find them desirable, everyone has different tastes.
Let me be clear, this game is NOT a load of crap, nor are the brothers. I simply find them undesirable bachelors. This game is in development, the devs need feedback, positive and negative, to help make the game the best it can be for as many people as possible.
You've misentepreted what I've been saying, I'm not saying don't criticise the game or don't provide feedback.
I'm saying be tactful in what you criticise, and how you provide feedback.
Think about all of the dateable npcs we currently have, 12 males and 11 females, having a pretty even number of male/female romance options is what you expect but if the devs then say we'll give you the option of dating some of the other npcs in town then any criticism should be provided constructively and carefully so that the devs don't regret giving you the extra option in the first place.
If you wanted to date one of the hulu brothers asking for some minor improvement to their quests or character is reasonable but you have to take into account the purpose of the npc in question and what intentions the developers had when creating that character in the game.
The impression that I get is that you have no intention of dating one of the hulu brothers and are thus asking the characters to be overhauled so you can have an extra dating option, this would of course compromise the intent and purpose of the hulu brothers and their reference to outside characters.
In your position I would myself suggest the implementation of a dateable npc that had characteristics not seen in the already present npcs, not ask the devs to change the purpose of already existing characters.
Try thinking about what sort of npc is missing in portia then suggest an addition instead of asking for everything about an already existing npc to be changed to an unrecogniseable extent.
