Merlin camera date responses

Just curious guys, when I did the camera date with Merlin, I got a response that it was underwhelming, experiment failed, etc etc (got the camera though). I never really developed my relationship with her much in the first place, we're still stranger level in main game. For the forced date if I remember right I had a solid 35+ point score.
So the question: Did any of you receive a different mail response by doing better or worse? As much as I'd like to experiment with it to see, I don't want to go back and make a whole new game just to find out haha.

I had a pretty high score on the "date" with her but is otherwise on a low level with her.

I got the same response. She seems to consider it a study in human interaction.

I got a good response by picking everything she lists at the restaurant, then going to bench in the main plaza and having a chat with her then giving a good gift, I was up near the top of the meter at the end of the date and she said it wasn't what she expected.

It doesn't matter how bad or good the date was....how developed your relationship with Merlin is before the date,....Merlin will still say the exact same thing.

I tossed her off the seesaw so high she caught a bird... and was happy! But she doesn't care about dating.

For those who come here via google like I did. Her not caring about the quality of the date does not mean you can just do whatever and end it early while still completing the quest. I was miffed with her for the timing (JUST got into a relationship with petra and now you ask me to take you out on a date right in front of her???) so I used the seesaw to shatter her tailbone then ended the date and just lost 17 friendship, no quest change. Had to wait until the next week to try the date again and get a positive result :(.

Regardless of whether you score average or high with her, she says the date sucked and gives you the camera anyways because she’s a tsundere.

almost tempted to delay the newspaper storyline until you can just build a camera. But I doubt they were expect that.

If you build the camera 1st - the mission may not appear (according to fandom.com)
