The fluctuating charge mechanic is bad, the having to hold down the click is hard on the fingers and makes aiming difficult as you release to throw.
You should have to click once to charge to full and click again to throw. Also the random moving crosshair is annoying, and yes it is laggy so that doesnt help either.
I don't like how the charge bar changes because it wastes so much time. What is the Character doing? Swinging their arms? That mechanic should be taken out tbh. I don't ever see the benefit of shooting at lower than full strength, even at the rocks in front. Also, the crosshairs moving is awful. Aiming doesn't feel like it helps because you never hit where you aim,so you have to aim super high above where you want to hit.
Love the friendship boost with all the players though. Oh, and the extra prizes at the end. I got a tree and a snowman for "being the best snowballer" even if I was the only one throwing them, haha
I have a 1080TI with 11 GB of memory, 32GB of system memory, and a six core processor at 3.5ghz. My setup has nothing to do with it being laggy even if its minor compred to others it shouldn't exist period, Unity games have peformance problems.
But it wouldn't bother me if the games mechanics weren't flawed to begin with.
Never manage to do any good at that mini-game myself, the charging feature makes aiming weird. Also sometime I press to charge, it looks like it doesnt charge, so I press again and I see a weak snowball go away and fall too short ( sometime it does it two or three time too), then I gotta wait a few seconds before I can start charging another one, and then the npc I was aiming at just duck into cover...
Uh... that 's not how snowballs work ! Throw it or dont throw it, there's no charge !
If you move to aim somewhere else, the charge disappears.
The aiming is off, because you have to aim higher, in order to even hit them.
It is kinda annoying to play.
Not to mention that even if they are still peaking from their cover while you throw, the snowball need so long to fly that they can easily duck back before it hits.
I also threw a few snowballs that I thought were sure hits which missed the characters somehow nevertheless.
I sort of like the fact physics actually comes into play when you aim, but sort of don't as a snowball hardly has the Arc issues of a bow and arrow or a sniper rifle... It's a touch over done for something so simple.
The only thing I really don't like is the charging bar fluctuating for no @#$% good reason. Makes the game a lot more tedious than it has to be. Tedium is the enemy of anything enjoyable and this constant futzing around with the charging bar has a metric ton of it.
Cheers..!
