Moving a large planter box without loosing the tree?

Given trees need a lot of days to grow, is it possible to move the planter box without loosing the tree? I expanded my yard a bit and now the planter boxes are kind of in the way. I fear I already know the answer but it doesn't hurt to ask :-D I have lots of data discs so that's not much of a problem but more the time needed for the trees to regrow...

I wish i could move an entire chest full of items too when upgrading the house , and that being said i have lots of chest , took me days b4 i can upgrade my house
