Medicine Delivery: Albert and Phyllis have history?!!

Spoilers for this specific side mission ahead! BEWARB.

Okay, so I just finished the little side quest Mission: Medicine Delivery for Phyllis. You basically just hand out Medicine she made from a prior quest to 3 people - Gale, Sam, and... Albert.

GALE:
He basically just thanks you and says that Phyllis is talented and soon Portia will be fortunate enough to have two doctors. Pretty basic and what you’d expect. Nice mayor is nice. NEXT!

SAM:
I didn’t think to get it word for word or screenshot unfortunately, but I found an interesting (to me) little tidbit when I delivered Sam’s medicine. She jokingly asks why Phyllis isn’t delivering it herself and is all like “is she too busy for her best friend?” and then resolves to go see her for tea sometime soon.

So that’s cool! I don’t know why but I didn’t expect Phyllis and Sam to be best friends for some reason? Not that I thought they disliked each other, but I never see them together, etc. So it’s cool to think they’re actually super close!

ALBERT:
Okay. I give Albert his medicine. And this is what I get: “This from Phyllis? Thanks mate! Seems like she still cares about me. But why has she been avoiding me lately? Strange...”

STRANGE INDEED, ALBERT. I sat looking at my screen, reading this, trying to come up with head canons. Trying to figure out what went down behind the scenes and/or in the distant (OR RECENT) past between Albert and Phyllis.

So I vroom vroom my character’s pixelated butt back to Phyllis, hoping that she’ll maybe ask what everyone said and address something, anything. But to no avail. I got a cute blowing kiss animation with some hearts and, from Phyllis, I guess that’s all I needed.

But now I’m left with questions and no answers... What do you guys think happened between Albert and Phyllis?

Albert and Phyllis both go to the diner together?? Oh snap! I’ve seen Albert in there before but I’ve never caught Phyllis. Hohoho!

I was just thinking what Lyla said :) They're the only ones I ever see sitting at the bar together - everyone else seems to get a table.

interesting. i thought they were together for a bit cuz they sit on the same bench by the museum until i realized he was hung up on ginger. i really like that they're finally giving them background stories.

It's cute that they have their own crushes beside Albert's infactuation with Ginger and Antoine's crush with Dr Xu, what else?

I'm guessing Nora and Arlo were going to be something since they see each other by the well.. Someone said that Emily waits for Remington but I'm not sure.. Tody is weird and I saw him in the afternoon waving at the Research Center; so I'm guessing Petra or Lucy in case he was waving at the school.

Every time I see Higgins sitting next to Lucy in church, I wonder if he likes her & think, no way Lucy, you're better than that! :)

I think you probably saw him at his fishing store stand and he may have just been waving to get attention from passing customers. Like that just may be his idle store animation.

And about Emily and Remington. I had no idea that happened I may have to keep an eye on either of them to see for myself.

But after making this thread I now see Phyllis and Albert actually do spend time together. Yowza!

Albert is described as a man who enjoys to flirt and hit on pretty women, though, so it’s not out of character for him to be somewhat dazzled by Ginger and still pursue a thing with Phyllis. It’s not like he’s in an actual relationship with either of them, so it’s not a bad thing, and he’s an adult. Phyllis also seems like the mature type where, if they did have something, she wasn’t TOO emotionally invested and still was focusing on her career as a nurse/future doctor in order to open her own clinic.

I always just assumed it was because they were two single, adult people and Albert likes to flirt with women (stereotypically a bar would be the place for that) and I can definitely imagine that Phyllis, after a day of nursing (standing and walking allllll day), likes to kick to sit down and hav a couple drinks before heading home.

But now I see I should could (or should? lmao I don’t know) read into things more in this game, even if it seems like a minor or unimportant thing.

I agree! The characters are the highlight of the game for me and I’m very excited to see the dialogue, events, and interactions overall expand with the updates!

I think Lucy is really cute but, I gotta be honest, I rarely talk to her. I see her at Martha’s little outdoor table all the time but I never really stop to say hi? I’m such a jerk.

I have my fingers, toes, legs, arms, and eyes crossed in the hopes that the dev team will/are planning to expand on Higgins and give him more of a role than “rival who is just always gonna hate you and can’t even have his friendship raised.”

Oh, Higgins!

He just throws ore at you until you fall down, crying, and then he crouches over you to hock a loogie in your face. Defeated, you are cast out of town for being an embarrasment not only to yourself but to others as well for knowing you.

You then hide out in McDonald's stables, living there in secret, while doing odd jobs for the townsfolk that will still associate with you. This'll raise your reputation again until theyall eventually let you back into town with open arms and turn on Higgins for being a bully, which is when Higgins will rip off his face, revealing he was a robot the whole time and then blow up in a spew of fireworks.

This creates a new unlockable holiday where every year the townsfolk robot masks, pulling (sometimes malicious) pranks on one another until the clock strikes midnight and fireworks go off. Everyone rips off their mask and cheers, eating sweets and candy.

A really dumb Halloween-esque(-ish) celebration is born in the town of Portia. Sweet!
