Rainbow flowers not registering for pigment.

I have 5 rainbow flowers I collected from the desert and I am trying to make pigment with them in the blender. It says I have 0 because they need to be specifically from planting?

This seems unintentional, since, why would they be collectable in the desert if I cannot use them?

In the desert you get Asteria flowers.
Their icon is the same as the rainbow flowers. (confusing I know)

You can use them to make the "pot of asteria" loved gift for Albert

Django loves that asteria flower pot too and gives red star requests for it.
Besides it looks nice in the house.
Btw the rainbowflowers grow in the planter boxes through any seasons - at least in the German translation the description sais 'spring only' but that is no longer valid since at least 2 updates ago.
