Level 2 house takes up space for nothing.
Takes double the space of the level 1, you can't place anything close to it or on the platform or anything, what is the point other than marriage

You can place furniture and statues on the balcony. I had a table four chairs amd 2 lama statues on mine before i upgraded to level 3.

The amount of space the level 2 house takes is insane. Im currently saving towards the 100k plot and refuse to lower my industrial output so cant afford the space even for a T2 house. Thankfully I know I have more land plots to buy up so its not too big a deal but if I cut off the last land plot I bought, the House takes almost HALF of the available land and the assembly yard (T2) takes almost a quarter. Its kinda intense on the land usage.

you also get a higher cap for stats from the furniture. I agree though, if you don't plan to get married right away, it might be better to use the space for other structures/farm/workstations until you buy some of the larger plots of land. Then, you can upgrade your house and actually still have room to move things around. I would say you would want the 100k expansion (not including your discounts) before upgrading your house. That one gives you room for all of the farm buildings, plus room for upgraded Assembler, upgraded house, decent amount of workstations and a small farm. I recommend working on your friendships with Albert, Gale, Presley, Gust and Antoine from the very beginning, as these all give bonuses that make buying upgrades easier. (Albert = fewer materials, Gale = cheaper property, Presley = bonus prestige, Gust = cheaper shop upgrades, and Antoine = bonus coins on commissions). Find out what they like from the wiki and greet and gift them daily (at the very least an herb or berry) until they get to buddy level. Then you can play date each of them except Gale to max out their friend bonus.

oh wow... i was literally about to buy the next house... hmmm, i'd like those higher caps... but space... ekkk

It;s definately a tough call Symbro, the stat bonuses are useful but the workspace is just as important early game.

Remember you can rotate your house, I was able to fit the level 2 house into the lot before I got the 100K lot upgrade.

Fitting the thing isn't the issue, it's it taking up way too much space that could be used for industry

As others have suggested, that I agree with, do not upgrade your house unless you purchased a few of the lot upgrades first, I'm not sure if there's a price ratio, but I would assume get the next lot upgrade (no matter how expensive) first rather than the cheaper house upgrade.

What I mean is if the previous lot upgrade was 8000 Gol (hypothetically speaking), and the house upgrade is 10,000, then get the lot upgrade first and if the lot jumped to 25,000 Gol, get that one and then get the house upgrade. So I would at least purchase the "next" lot upgrade that is more expensive than the house upgrade, just to ensure there's enough space.

That being said, it's been a long time since I remember the house upgrades and lot upgrades that I could purchase at that time, but you definitely should have enough space for the house upgrade if you primarily focus on lot upgrades.

I upgraded my lot space (today or yesterday) at the 100,000 Gol price (and it provides lots of space), and I think it definitely can fit the final house and assembly upgrades if I move my items accordingly to fit. And I still have at least one more lot upgrade if not more.

And I still will have plenty of industry workbenches that I can add. Plus whatever adds when I further upgrade my lot.

15k then 30K for lots.
the 15k actually tripled the lot size... mostly back away from the road. Looks like the 30k is going to expand it along the road (toward the river)

Yeah it gives you a small section where the sign is.

The benefit of a level 2 house is minimal compared to having room for a level 2 assembler and being able to start on your farm, fisheries, and decent sized workshop. Decent clothing and weapon, and level 1 house buffs is plenty to survive everything up to building the desert bridge. The house upgrade gives no bonus to anything except combat, so if you want to make money quickly (which gets everything built more quickly) focus on land expansion, workshop upgrades, and building more industrial machines to produce even more quickly.

Also, the new level 3 assembler is even bigger, and lets you auto-build from inventory instead of having to hold and place items. That's a worthy feature.
