I would love interaction between characters though, and a little scene about Arlo and Nora would be cool.
Or even more interaction/dialogue between Albert and Phyllis.
Little things like maybe, further in the story, you could catch Petra and Nora talking and coming to a sort of understanding/tentative friendship, giving a glimpse into a little "future generations of the Research Center and Church come together and are more open to/tolerant of each other's views."
And I'd be down to see the kids play together some more, even. Even if it's them running around the square/the neighboring field looking like they're playing tag. Polly could be sitting under a tree, reading nearby.
Sam and Phyllis hanging out a catching tea with one another would be nice.
Overhearing Russo and Gale talk about the past and the war.
Just things like that. Could add a lot of flavor to the world, even if it's just us overhearing/seeing things to make connections with more people. As of right now, with some townsfolk, I straight up don't know if they ever see or interact with one another. Lmfao
(I try to be good with words, but still fall through, as you see with "stay pure/holy"...)
but- yeah! stuff like that, flavor to the world
Sam and Phyllis did pass through my head as well, you got Sam mention once being best friends with Phyllis, but you never actually see them together
there's so many characters in one town, they should all know each other and have some kind of thoughts about the others in their town
coding in completely new paths and making characters interact when they cross would be a lot of work for the whole town, which would take a long time for a game still is early access.
adding in a few new lines for each character wouldn't be too hard, sure they would need to be voiced, but not everything is voiced yet in the first place. some simple lines that give more insight to relations between characters would add lots of flavor.
maybe new lines depending on your relation to the character, cause from what I seen so far I think it safe to assume lines still doesn't change when they're best friends or lovers or just married to them. it'd be great to see more familiar talk toward the player character.
(I have notice they stop to say hello to you when when they pass by after you get to be a 'friend' with them, I'd like to see more of that)
now- I realize this game is being activly worked on, so most likely I'm just rumbling about something that's planned at some point. so I'll keep quiet and look forward to it when it happens!
I am hoping for my dialog since it's lacking right now, but there is A LOT the devs still have to do. I am just praying they don't get lazy because they've been doing an amazing job so far. Some marriage candidates still don't have much. Like Mint can't talk under the Tree or really do much of anything with, same with Ginger etc. Also I'd love to see more facial expressions. Like when you make someone your BF/GF they blush or get flustered or something. Also would love to see some heart events in this game. I love seeing cutscenes of your character plus your loved one slowly getting higher in their relationship. The dating etc is nice, but I still would enjoy some story cutscenes!
I honestly can't remember the last game I played that had 'love rivals,' beside a old harvest moon game as you mentioned, just realizing with this game how I missed it.
if there are a candidate or two without a 'rival' I may have to go for them, I don't want to get between anyone, come full release I'm sure I'll let Arlo go so Nora can be with him.
if only I could be with them both, I wouldn't mind that, but Poly relationships in games as far as I know haven't ever happened.
but I'm sure most likely I may just never get married in the game depending on who those few without a 'rival' are, and what their actual character is.
I'll just be a bystander and watch the world move on and change around me.
