Why upgrade furnace?
I've been using the initial stone forge and recently upgraded to the Civil Furnace (i think it's called), and aside from being able to feed twice the amount of fuel, i can't see the difference.

What's the point of "upgrading" to the more materially expensive forge?

Because:
a) the civil furnace is a bit faster,
b) it's more efficient (you don't need to feed it witht fuel twice a day just to get 10 bars) and
c) the stone furnace cannot produce all types of metal bars.

And realy you want multiples of each tier anyway. The starting furnace remains useful: I use mine to make the charcoal for the carbon-steel being made in the high-end furnaces, while the mid range furnaces churn out bronze copper and iron.

Or you can use your mid-tier furnaces to make the Fire-powered generator and replace them with Industrial furnaces. I still use the basic ones for charcoal.

basic ones for charcoal, because they only take up 4 squares, the bulk of mine are civil furnaces, i have two industrial ones and get very little use out of them in regards to what they can do that the civil ones cant. Industrial ones take up 8 squares so in the end if you want to maximise your space id go with a few basic ones the bulk civil and just one or 2 industrial for now.

Industrial furnaces and Fire Generators will save you on Crystals and Wood in the Long run, as well as allows for quicker fill ups on days you dont want to be loading wood and materials in smaller furnaces. I have one Industrial Constantly Pushing out Carbonsteel bars, and a cutter constantly making bars out of them. At the rate I actually use them, I can only imagine with future updates Im going to want a huge stockpile of Bars and Plates.

I built the Civil Furnace as soon as i could and was quite dismayed that i couldn't stack higher than 10 for a project, which is what i was REALLY hoping to be able to do. Right now, all i use it for is carbonsteel when i need it, otherwise, it does the same thing as my two stone furnaces, which is primarily bronze.

16 fire generators, 15 civil cutters, 10 grinders, 4 skinners, 6 mixers, 40 civil furnaces (tier 3 anyway), 24 drying racks, 80+? trees (6 x whatever max end to end of the yard is)

hot damn phantom is cooking, have you unlocked all the spaces, id like to look at your workshop!

I sure have, the best money maker is pretty much random mining, shame I haven't seen more than 109% and it was a rare sight that didn't last long... having essentially infinite dried slices really helps too. biggest trouble I have is how much wood I consume daily, plus if I play in my yard at all its noon to 2pm before I have been to everything

How does one share a workshop anyway? you talking screens?

wasn't sure if you mean that they had a farm shot in game option (which devs if you are paying attention... GOOD idea to have an ability to get a birds eye screenshot of the farm that doesn't involve moving things in your farm)

Go to A&G construction and move your workbench then screen shot that view they give you
