Sword vs Axe/Pickaxe
When i look at the attack stats of axes and pickaxes they are much better than swords.

For example Attack stat of an axe is +100 while sword is +30

Than why should i craft an sword? I don't get it. Is there any benefit using swords in fights?

axe/pickaxe are much slower then the sword. so while the raw attack of them are higher the sword will have hit several hits by the time the axe/pickaxe does one hit.

Also stamina usage.
I guess I should elaborate, the pickaxe and axe use much more stamina depending on skills.

Hmm i didn't know that because it only shows attack rates. So you say it is still good to use sword?

Also when you swing either of them, you are stuck in place for much longer than with a sword. Harder to dodge etc.

go wastland dungeon, fight with axe/pick/sword, then you know what to use to fight

Definitely.
Axes and pickaxes are so slow, that the sword will easily surpass them in damage. Some monsters attack quickly enough to even prevent you from using your tools to swing at them.
Also, if you are lucky, one hit might interrupt the enemies attack animation, enabling you to place some more hits without fearing retaliation.

Sword is the way to go.

In the time you swing your axe once you will swing your sword 3-4 times. With each time to crit and the 3rd and 4th attack deal way more dmg then the first two.

The atk on the sword is just a +atk to your base, so is the ones on the tools - that way you get way more powerful in the end. With the last sword currently available i can crit for up to 600 dmg.

So, sword is the way to go ^.~

After a bit testing (iron sword), the actual attack powers of the tools (fisherman's tools) are misleading.

The sword does in fact more damage per hit than the pickaxe or axe.

I think the attack damage on the ace/pick governs the amount of damage to stone/wood.
I don`t think its intended as a weapon.
