Too much grinding !
I just spent 7h straight playing and realize that for everyday circle what I do is : get a new comission and try to complete it with many items, pararel with that I have to upgrade/craft new items to progressing story which cost alot of items too, and to maintance 2 of them above I have to grind in the ruins like a restless machine until midnight and repeat tomorrow.

This is NOT RELAXING but STRESSFULL ! I hope you guys rebalance the game soon.
( played planet explorer for 80hrs and that game makes me stressful of its grinding too! )

Yeah. That's typical of farm/crafting game genre. Welcome to the gather > craft > repeat feedback loop. That's the core of the game.

Consider building more furnaces. You should be crafting bars 24/7. If you have a stockpile of bars, most commissions are easy.

don stress

The game wont be fun anymore of you play it to grind. If I have to build something on the platform then thats all I focus on, unless an easy commision comes along as a side. But this whole running bars 24/7 will kill the game for me. If the game takes me longer to finish than other people then so be it but I make my own pace with the main story

As soon as you got enough Furnaces (7 Industrial did the trick for me) You can craft bars faster then you use them. Then i went making more Cutters to make plates faster. After that it was all about making charcoal and get iron ore.

You have 27 days to complete most Main-Story quests, which is plenty of time. I did the last one which is in the game atm in 7 days, and that was with farming from zero all the items from the ruins that i needed

It's not supposed to be cleared that fast, and even in a more leisure way you can do it in a couple of weeks. Now if the droprate of the necessary items is tweaked a bit, it will feel more casual and not like a grind to get Fluid and Wire ^^

I actually like this kind of stress, because there is always something to do. I refer to it as positive stress.

The only thing I dislike are those commissions like the Dee-dee-one, which more or less forces you to craft one each day or else you run the risk of losing them to the competition. Those always stress me like "You have to do it NOW! If you have planned something else, well, too bad!".

I kinda like the dee-dee type ones lol
Only because you can take on a second normal commission at the same time as the quest related ones. So essentially.. double the money and points while they are on the board.

I don't mind the grinding... probably after years of playing Final Fantasy 11 nothing feels like much of a grind heh I don't think crafting/gathering games are for everyone though and I think a lot of people are coming into this thinking its a farming game like SDV or Harvest Moon... which it isn't so they find they don't like it.
I feel like Im always on a race, a stressful deadline for me to rush, like "do it or you will be dead" progress.

There are differences between "always have something to do" and "always in a rush for deadline". Thats why the game doesnt give me air to breathe.

thats your problem then? , i enjoy this kind of game, theres no deadline, theres no time limit (except for some quest), you can do and craft whatever you want on any order you want really

That's actually part of the game of this genre, I even want it to be more tedious to make but skip the boring part for inventory/storage management. If you look at the combat, it's actually lackluster too, you just button mash them all, but it works, because we only after the loot.

In Planet Explorer we only have inventories, so we carry all the stuffs, even that it still tedious because there is no search feature and filter on it, so it still needs time to find a specific item.

Imo, the only game with huge item database that I know of and convenient to play is Ark Survival Evolved. I can always point to specific item really fast by just knowing the name and type it in the filter field

i agree...the game forces you to play at an annoying fast pace, else you wont finish a project. And getting an item, such as "4-simple circuits" is taking me forever.

I dont like that the game forces you to spend too much time inside the dungeons and caves. Is why i probably wont play this game very much longer.

Don't be intimidated by time, take it as being there only for giving us realistic reason since we live in a world with day and night cycle where we have to sleep. While for food it's different story, take it as a game mechanic.

if you look at the mission description, you will see that it gives you plenty of time to finish.Just imagine the game without time and play at your own pace, unless it's something like town meeting TODAY at 7 pm for example, then time is there for a reason, you won't be able to attend the meeting if you go the day after. As for doing anything you like, just do whatever and whenever you see fit.

After reading all replies, I think devs should re-balance the resource costs and time factor of day-night circle (maybe slow a half ?)
Or maybe Im too addicted to win the workshop ranking and that is the cost for being top 1 ? Anyone top 1 yet ?

I think you probaply right, the game itself is not hardcore but widely for all kind of players
You can go around killing monsters / exploring the world with no single ♥♥♥♥♥♥ care about crafting or expanding the workshop, and as result they can do it later ingame thought its late to have a good point of time to competive the ranking workshop (other workshops have point increased over time)
