Watering Crops?

I must be the dumbest person in the world, but how do I water them? Can I even water them? What is the water tank even used for (The one that appears after the grill, not the one associated with the Saving the Tree Farm quest)?

Someone from the devs team said there'll be a watering system but it's still work in progress

you have to put fertilizer on them , there is minimum marker on the fertilizer bar there , you have to fertilize the plant beyond that marker

thought they removed any upkeep on plants, except for putting them in the box and keeping them fertilized.

Yes, there is no upkeep to do on the plants. But if you keep the fertilizer level high you will get a multiple of the amount you'd get if you wouldn't.

On my first Pumpkin patch i got 20(!) from one planter, fully fertilized, on the second, which i didnt bother i only got 5. Same thing reoccured on Lettuce later on, 17 from fertilizer, 6 from none.

If water is added, i hope we can plant a Sprinkler next to it, tho ^^

Considering the emphasis on technology in the game, I assume sprinklers will def. be a thing.

whatever the reason was to replace that system with the current way simplier system, even the graphics were not that bad ~_~

And a better way to get fertilizer then gathering Feces in the fields

That's actually better looking than what we have right now, also makes more sense with water sprinkler, and doesnt seem to take much space, 1 planter box can have 2 to 6 crops. It also will add more variety to what we can do in the game, but it should be more forgiving and not asking for attention like everyday, even real plants don't need too much attention or do they?

To be fair, the current system is not bad though, it's exactly what I like because it does not need attention everyday, but minus the water which bothers me because it's illogical without water.

I wonder if the current system is a dumbed down version from that video or that video is the work in progress and havent been implemented since they're sidetracked by other things down the road.

i want that pig(phiomia) from ark... that one which you can feed or better expressed: you can spam stim berries on it and it will poop constanously (until it die on starvation or you feed it up again with normal berries and cycle again)

the only thing i know: i have a brown plant in my kitchen since years, because i did not pour it regularly and i hope it dont will be like its atm in staxel, where you only forget 1 day to do water the plants and they are directly dead next day...

but i dont know , i mean the vid is from september, thats why guessed that is the old version. atm the planter boxes are way bigger too...
