Loudspeaker or Boombox?

Does it make a difference which one I make for Panbat Infestation quest?

You can choose both, don't do like me and only choose one. I chose the boombox but now I'm missing the blueprint for loudspeaker and sometimes there's a commission that requests it. I've done all the research I can and haven't found a way to get missed blueprint.

I'm asking about difference, I already got both blueprints. Loudspeaker is cheaper to make so is there any reason to make Boombox for quest?

Loudspeaker get's rid of the panbats, boombox make them stay and become friendly.
Also I was able to keep the boombox to place it in my home.

Be aware: the boombox recipe in the book is not the same as the actual recipe on the construction platform. You need two additional copper coils that the book does not mention.

With the new updates, has anyone since noticed any other significant difference in the later story/gameplay dependent on whether you've scared or spared the panbats?

There isn't any obvious difference. If you merely facify the panbats, they'll keep flying around the tree farm not attacking you. But there is no difference story-wise.

That's not true... you have to do it so that you can fix the trees & open up the water stuff, & when you do the water stuff, you'll get the free wood delivery...

Choose both so it opens up both, then use the loud speaker. You'll get it back & both the loud speaker & the boom box can be donated to the museum. And you can make them noth again & set them in your house for stamina or health or attacks or something like that

I did the loud speaker and still had to do the water stuff for the tree farm and got the wood delivery. The only thing that changes between doing the Loud speaker and the boom box is that the bats stay with the boom box.

Having the panbats hang around is annoying to me. They get in the way and often block the entrance. I vote Loudspeaker.

One followup question... does using the boombox and having the panbats be friendly do anything? Or is it just an aesthetic sort of difference?

If they're friendly then you just have a bunch hanging around that you can't interact with. That's it.
