how do i get it this entire crafting system is a complete MESS like wtf am i supposed to do it's just hinting me to something please rework you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ crafting menu it's horrible

Take your time and read the tips. The game is pretty simple If you look it shows you X Amount of copper To make Copper pipe
Also it may hint around or under it to use "Smelter" Or whatever its called

Read the handbook when you press I. Look through the diagrams and it tells you what is needed to make the items.

Copper pipe is made with the grinder. Which it tells you in little notes on the diagram. It's not a horrible crafting menu, it's a unique and fantastic crafting menu. It is meant to actually look like you're just following your Pa's notes in a handwritten journal.
