Bizarre Bachelors

I've played through the main story line without going into romance; I find the bachelors somewhat bizarre. Does anyone else feel the same way? and why / why not?

Is macho Paulie deeper than he seems? Is there a reason Gust is a rude snob, and am I supposed to find that appealing? Oaks' bin diving grosses me out? Is Django old enough to be my grandfather? Is Albert's obsession with Ginger creepy? The Hula brothers... where to start.

Is there anything you would change about some of the bachelors? Or what new bachelors would you like to see?

Dawa of the Hulu brothers get's a girlfriend in the game, and some of the others then says they wants one too. Soo i see them more like a bunch of bros without options.
Albert, oh Albert. Stalker, creepy, Serial dater and desperate. Getting the snub from Phyllis and Sonia who complains about the constant date request by him. And Ginger ignores his stalking and never even mention him.
Paulie the manliest man is probably in love with his own manlines.

I agree with you. There are definitely some strange choices for bachelors in there. I mean, I get it, they wanted EVERYONE who was eligible to be marry-able (not too old, too young, married, or an animal), but at the same time... who the heck is marrying a Hula Brother? It actually really annoys me that there's like 10 people with the exact same model and very similar names walking around town. I wish they looked different. It'd make them alot more palatable as marriage candidates. As it is, I can't tell them apart most of the time and it's a pain remembering which brother does what. Plus, they're not attractive as bachelors by most standards, I'd say. I get making Paulie and Django candidates, but I'd argue that they're too old for it to be reasonable. How old is the Player... like late teens? Early twenties at most? Those NPCs have to be pushing at least 35+. It's definitely creepy.

I wish some of the bachelors/ettes had deeper stories. Some of them are pretty fleshed out (Gust, Arlo, Emily, Ginger, etc), but some don't have much going on at all (Lucy, Alice, Petra, etc). It makes them boring as choices. I wish they'd spent less time making some of the more unlikely characters marriage-able (Hula Bros, Paulie, Django, etc) and put more work into the traditional candidates instead.

Gust is one of the few with a deeper backstory. But there still questions to be asked. And be happy he doesn't flip that hair!

Some of the options are odd, yes. But it all comes down to taste. My first game, I married Dr. Xu. Next game I went for Oaks just cause he's so odd, but he turned me down :( Now I'm trying to pursue Mint. He's smart and likes to nap a lot; my kind of guy!

At some point, I'll try Gust out of curiosity, but he's such a jerk that I'm not interested. Albert is just desperate and it comes across super creepy so I'll probably keep ignoring him. Remington and Arlo are good candidates.

It's like they made all the bachelorettes cute, young and.. Perky! And the bachelorettes they made either goofy or arrogant, you know? Although they're not all bad I admit.

Can I ask, does anyone else think Mint's voice sounds.. well.. like me may not be interested in women? He and Antoine would make a cute couple.

Anyone interested in the Mystery man? I'd go there! But if I had to choose a bachelor from the current pool it'd be either Dr Xu or Remington.

Did anyone marry Aadit before finishing the main story line quests?

My original file married Dr Xu after nearly 6 years.
Just make sure you and Mint are very close. I always wait for 10 hearts to lock him down.
There a few things behind Gust's sanctimony. One of my saves married him and he's actually very sweet if you don't mistake his self confidence for arrogance.

Albert IS creepy .. just .. ugh LOL

Let us know how it goes with Arlo and/or Remington. I have heard mixed things about Arlo, but a lot of the bad was from an unreliable source so .... meh. But I'm curious.

I marrying Gust. Not gonna lie, my type of guy. His backstory is pretty great too and rather sad. And honestly, after reading this thread and finding out I can marry Django, time to create another save for that because... I like him ; p

I do admit that the Hula brothers, while an interesting idea, is kind of ruined with, as stated before, the exact models just copied and pasted but with different colors. Either way, they are just bonus Bachelors in my mind that I am just gonna stay away from.

Exact model brothers with completely different voices! That's what aggravates me with them. I have to tell myself they were separated as babies and raised in different places all over their new world to explain all of the accents.

Simple solution here: make McDonald dateable. He’s the only bachelor that you can’t date, despite him clearly stating in-game how he’s single/divorced.

Also, if there’s anything I’d change, it’d be Gust’s hair, skin, and eye color: make him a little more pale with blue eyes and white hair, and you got the perfect husband.

I'm assuming you're quite young, since you expect all the other players to also be quite young, but i think you'd find a large amount of players are older =) It's the same in Stardew Valley. Actually, it's the same in an awful lot of game!

And yes, a lot of the options are very odd! Well, their personalities are anyway. I may end up dating one of the girls, if I even bother with that side of the game - so far I think Remington and Arlo are the only two male characters that really appeal even a little
