The quest called for just a few of them, but you'll actually be building them throughout your playthrough, especially as you unlock areas.
----
Since the Dee-Dee system allows for fast-travel, you're going to want to add Dee-Dee Stops when you see prompts to build them.
Apart from the first three all other stops are optional, but as the others mentioned above it is really a good idea to place as many as you can at any time. As you unlock more areas there will be more locations to set up the fast travel mode.
You need to build a stable building with a red roof in your yard first (it has space for 3 mounts).
For horses you also need to complete a quest by Mc Donald - repair his destroyed stable so he can open his second shop. There you can either buy or rent horses there. (Rental one doesn't need a stable and comes fully trained, white horse is the fastest mount in the game but needs training)
You can also build a llama trap but for that you need to plant salad first (and buy cumin from Sophie) as bait.
I bought the white mount and trained him overnight on each thing and gave him love daily x 3 to earn his loyalty .. since you dont use the mount overnight thats why i trained him then.
but until i had the money to buy the horse, yeah i used dee dee stops everywhere, easier then running around alot LOL.
I adore Grandma Sophie; I do wish the characters would stop repeating themselves; I also wish there was an option to select, when some begin to ask me cook for me & I cannot because I don't have the cook set nor the design for it yet via Petra. In the beginning there was an option, if one wanted to take a small personal request or not; Now, some characters are asking again & again; I either don't have the necessary materials or for some other I cannot get it done yet; Makes me coo coo. Some times, I get a notice via map ~~ I run there ~~ and all it was is a request for a meal?! Again ~~ makes me coo coo. Thanks for your help @worstcase11

For cooking, if you can't be bothered, become friends with Ack (once you're at that point) and you can get alot of dishes cooked once you have the recipe for them.
i only bothered to fulfill wishes if that NPC's friendship gave me something in return - like Gale with lower expansion cost, Gust or Albert for lower costs in materials etc ... and the NPC my toon was romancing for points too.
Afterwards you have to tame the llama - feed it a bit cumin or salad until it looks happy. And then play the riding minigame - you will have to hit the right keys (WASD) at the right time.
If taming fails the llama escapes but since it will be still early morning you can easily reload until you succeed.
And you might want to save up on buying a white horse for the riding contest. Though nothing stops you from taking part with a rented horse or a llama, they might not be fast enough for 1st place.
@worstcase11 Oh dear me... golly... yea... I probably should buy a horse that likes pumpkins, for some reason; I'll run out... and it'll be another reason I have to run to Grandma Sophie's to purchase; Perhaps renting is something I may consider; Unless winning is big big cash win & big points ~~ which no doubt it is... *sighs*

For farm, imo it's better to save that for things you cant buy or gather in the wild... rainbow flower, apricots, nitre... and it's more something you do once you unlocked (purchased) your entire lot, because having plants everywhere makes upgrading your house and assembly station tedious... same for stable, coop and such....
For mounts, better go with the rental horse too, It's way less expensive than any owned mount before late game and doesnt require stable or training.
Did my first horse race with it and placed first everytime no problem (havent played since the EA, before all those horse thing were added to the game, and i'm currently making a new character, still on my first year).
Pinky as well as Scraps love dried bladefish - more than most fresh fish. And dried apple slices are some of the best things to recover stamnia in the entire game - so my suggestion would be to build a few drying racks and buy a few apple tree saplings from the church. (I currently have 6 drying racks and a lot of apple and crystella trees.) Aside from pumpkin horses also eat wheat and rice.
