Report a translation problem
Regarding the voice acting for players, I agree with you. I disliked all three of the male voice actors. Maybe they shouldn't have given the player character one. That's how many JRPG do it and players usually don't mind, do they.
Just in case you (or someone else) didn't notice, you can absolutely pick to give the main character no voice - which is what I picked. Still shows the dialog in text, but no actual voice lines.
As to whether you can change it in game after starting, I have no clue as I never had to look. Hopefully you can find it or someone else can chime in.
I so disagree with not giving the player a voice and I am glad my character has one. There is an option to turn the voices off which is the better option than to have none to start off with and there are some of us who do kinda like the voices in the game. :)
