Electrical Furnace
Maybe it should've been called 'smelter' or... I'm not sure. Anything but furnace. Given we've been following a pretty linear progression from Stone -> Civil -> Industrial, I presumed Electric would be a bigger, better furnace able to smelt bars.

...So I farmed up mats, calculated everything I would need for 5 Fire Generators and 10 Electric Furnaces, pumping Steel day and night with my four industrial and 8 civics. Only to finish the job, plop down one to try and determine how I want to lay things out...

And it smelts all of THREE THINGS?!

Rofl. Welp. That's a thing.

It is actually pretty useful in the later game. But I never build more than two of them.

I always look up a wiki on what they smelt before I make them tbh, may be cheating or bad for the experience but I would have a very sour impression to build something and it only make 3 things, specially with materials it needs, not everyone slows down to have many materials ready.

I'm loving the game. But some of us do indeed proceed without looking up guides, and this is a little dirpy. None of the Level two upgrades (grinder and cutter) do this. I think, maybe, it really ought to be renamed or some sort of warning placed about it. Thankfully I'd completed 6 in one day, four on the next, so I recovered some of my resources. But eh.

For sure it is about taking your time which is good but some story missions others can snipe so again people need to really slow down and sometimes people tend to hate when the story stops so many will rush/continue.

You can always sell the extras or toss them into a recycling machine. Don't forget to donate one to the museum though.

It's supposed to be an upgrade to Industrial Furnace. It's the only "upgrade" that loses features.

This might be an allusion to modern tech companies purposely removing features. It would be amusing if the planned updates added new Furnaces that added support for the other ores for a monthlu subscripition fee or it will break down every once and a while and require a special technician to come out and fix it.

I really didn't see a problem there; it's not as if the old furnaces suddenly disappear.

I built an electrical, assuming it would be the same as the industrial plus some. Turned out, it's only plus some. So, I never built a second one.

Also, comprehensive cutters produced aluminum plates as well, so the old steel problem of needing piles of bars to make plates didn't really exist with aluminum...
