Run NPC Run
Oh just venting I suppose... each time my character(s) ~~ I have two ~~ gift etc (this includes husbands) ~~ the npc runs in the opposite direction. My characters wonder... if they forgot to put on deodorant, brush their teeth, put on makeup or have spaghetti sauce on their face or white shirt (one character is married to Arlo... the man eats nothing but spaghetti with hot sauce). My characters are trying not to take this personally; However, it's difficult when the npcs run like she has the plague, and usually from the direction they just came from. It truly is discombobulating.
Also, when finishing a quest etc., and hubby is included... the man doesn't even acknowledge my character. The husband nor their friends/ family don't acknowledge her as a daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, part of the family or even congratulate the marriage, with Arlo... the character had to purchase a second wedding ring for herself... where the first one go to? It's not a man's ring? It was very expensive. *coughing*
I know I've mentioned this before... the repeat comments... please... please... please... even from dates with husbands... is very sad... very something... very...
Did I say I love the game to death? Did I?

I also have full devotion on him.

Did you buy the double bed from Best Brothers? Because he won't sleep with you in the single bed.

If you happened to move the bed, which my character did, Emma, married to Gust; You'll need to reset the bed thingie again. I had no idea why Gust was roaming the living room, when he usually is consistent about bedtime.

With Gust you made weekly quests ? All spouses have a quest every week .
If you play on pc try this --load Steam--library--right click MTAP --properties--local files--verify integrity of game cache ---maybe yours issues are resolved .

Well the bed has been in the same place since before we were married. It is a double bed. I tried proposing to him with a single bed and he turned me down. (How did he know??? LOL) I had read that spouses not sleeping with you could be a problem and changed the settings the day of our marriage. I have verified the integrity of my files multiple times for other reasons some game related some because I was a bad pc owner and was playing during a thunderstorm where the power went out. So I am at a loss. At least I never SEE him sleeping somewhere else. . .possible grounds for divorce. I am not playing that file at the moment so I am not going to worry about it.
You guys are all so awesome. There is nothing more refreshing to me that to see a discussion free of drama and everyone just talking respectful to one another. For that I thank you all.

It's wonderful @Eterna! @hmgrammy reset the bed ~~ move it a bit and reset it; Who knows? Maybe it will work ~~ maybe not...

I am a member of forums outside of steam and see enough drama to last a lifetime in real life. My philosophy is treat how you want to be treated. If someone is disrespectful to me, I don't have to contribute -- no skin off my back to keep silent. I am here because I want help and I think most others are too. As far as the bed thing when I get back to that file, I will give it a whirl. I am having a lot of fun with the current. I decided to try and get as many non-marriage related cutscenes as possible. Then marry the person who currently leaves, and then marry someone who will propose to me. Currently dating Arlo for the perks while doing the main storyline, I am such a floozey. But it's a good time.

You are enjoying the game to its' fullest @hmgrammy ~~ that's what it's all about! Isn't it wonderful! I've said it million times & will continue to say it a million more ~~ Portia is a phenomenal game! Please please please make more of the same or a Portia 2 to 100. I have purchased so many copies of Portia to give to all my friends & family ~~ they love it too.

Oh drama drama drama ~~ I really do believe at times it is for shock value. I will not choose to allow others to make me feel differently about something I love. I just laugh. There are those we thrive on upsetting others. It in some sick way it helps to make them feel better about themselves for a minute or two. Usually, I feel, these types of people are the most insecure, lonely, angry ect... and their goal is to try to make others feel the same. I agree with you wholeheartedly ~~ best to ignore (blocking is nice). I also believe the joiners are even worse ~~ they cannot say what they want to say... so they back the individual by joining their cult. I love talking fun about the game & even venting here & there; I do that with hubby & he does it me. Does it mean our relationship is over?! Of course not ~~ it's just in fun. If one doesn't vent ~~ the head begins to turn blue... and the smurf phenomenon begins... and then one's voice changes... actually it can be fun too, lol

Ha! Ha! So true, so true. After 31 years of marriage, you have to be around those that know when you vent, let it go. If it is meaningful, revisit another day - usually when it's not that time of the month.

So something I haven't run into before: Arlo is at Soulmate level, I haven't turned my boy toy loose yet. I have been trying for the last 3 game days to confess to divorce-by-letter man and he keeps turning me down, of all the nerve. I have dated other people at the same time before, it's a lot harder to get the jealousy scene than wiki makes it seem like. Anyway, is he turning me down because when it comes to rng my luck stinks or because Arlo is at soulmate and the game is making it harder? Hmmm. . . I think I will try again for another day or two and if he is still shutting me down, I will give up boy toy even if it jacks with the perks.
Wanderer Bobbi Jul 26, 2019 @ 2:40pm
@hmgrammy are you sparring with Arlo 3x a day? The man lives to get the cr*p beat out of him by women ~~ (he always talks about how Mali beat him) it's true I tell ya ~~ watch ~~ he'll marry you soon after, if he knows you're his warrior queen. ;o)
hmgrammy Jul 27, 2019 @ 6:54am
LOL! I know actually he is the toy boy, the bit on the side as they used to say. Aadit is the one I am trying to marry. He did finally on the fourth try accept my confession. So since I forgot to get a ring last season, I have to wait about 4 more days to get one then Arlo is going to have a serious loss in friendship. Oh well such is life. If i hear "sweetie. . .I will protect you" one more time, argh!
Wanderer Bobbi Jul 27, 2019 @ 10:28am
My first character, Sarah, loves the freedom she has with the Arlo marriage. She can stay out until she falls asleep with miners hat on & pick in hand or fighting gear on with sword in hand. Gust on the other hand has my Emma running home before midnight or sooner ~~ thank goodness for the dee dee's!; Otherwise, in the morning he'll stand there, arms folded, and say, "You're back!" Emma's like dude... you can see I've been mining or fishing or fighting... Emma's woken many time with fishing rod in hand... I mean how does he think the blade fish gets stocked... by magic? ...and the mushrooms get picked for his blade fish mushroom soup... I did notice he likes Salty Stew Mix... it's a +6... and thank goodness he likes Salty Grilled Catfish ~~ Yay ~~ easy to make. I give him these dishes in between his blade obsession. Also, I can't forget to order his rock salt from the Civil Corps. The man has expensive taste!
hmgrammy Jul 27, 2019 @ 6:26pm
So married him 2.5 weeks later poof! No more Aadit or marriage. Really kind of sad. I hope the devs do something about bringing closure. Now I just have to find the bear! "oh where oh where has the little . . .bear gone?" Seriously can not find it. I am going blind in my old age, lol. I figured it was in Dawa's house but no box in the house. Google here I come.
Wanderer Bobbi Jul 28, 2019 @ 1:49pm
Oh dear...
hmgrammy Jul 28, 2019 @ 6:31pm
Yeah must say it is all kind of depressing. I liked him as hubby and the bear just kills me. I named my character an endearment so that when I got married the voice actor would call me by name. Cheesy I know but always being referred to as builder, new builder, young builder, etc. will drive you to insane acts. Now if I interact with the bear enough I hear him saying my name. . .so depressing. And then when dear old Pa leaves with a letter, shoot me now it will be a favor.
